Make sure that you use rubber gloves to avoid damaging the contacts or the clips.

Once the battery has been removed, insert the new battery into its socket. Make sure that the positive side is facing up and that it's seated within all clips. Slide the cover towards the key-ring area until it becomes loose, and it falls off. Uncover the cover and reveal the hidden mechanical key blade. How to Start Your Vehicle

Modern vehicles are equipped with key fobs that do more than just unlock and lock the doors. They also have other useful functions such as summoning or auto parking the vehicle. In fact, the latest Volvo XC60 can even remotely start the engine using key fob buttons. But how exactly does it work?

First, find an area of clean work surface on which you can lay out all of the necessary items for this project. Then, lay the fob down on the work surface with its Volvo logo facing upward. Use a flathead, coin, or another similar tool to flip open the battery hatch. Once the hatch is open you can slide the battery into its socket and make sure it is seated correctly with the positive (+) side facing up. Once the clips have been locked into place, replace the cover of the battery and then reassemble the fob.

By pressing the unlock button just once the alarm will be disconnected and the driver's door will be unlocked. Repeating this action will unlock all doors as well as the tailgate.
