Transponder Chip Key

The transponder key is an auto security device that transmits a unique number when it's inserted into the ignition. The immobilizer will then block the vehicle's fuel pump, starter motor and any other device that would otherwise allow it to run if it wasn't for the chip's identification code.

The key is generally composed of only metal and has a plastic head which houses the transponder. To remove the ignition key, you will have to use a screwdriver to get enough leverage.
