The Advanced Guide To Item Upgrading
World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item allows players to boost an item's gear rating up 700 points and also give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you bring them to the Kiln.
Certain items can be upgraded to benefit from their unique stats (like an ideally rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) and others, like weapons, do not change significantly after an upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats such as crit chance, attack damage as well as PvE and damage to PvP. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition some weapons come with a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon are present on a unit. This bonus can sometimes be more than the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can cause.
The cost of upgrading a weapon's capabilities is contingent on the rarity of the weapon and its current level. For example, an +2 weapon will require two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will increase until it needs a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgrades to weapons can also alter the stats of their base. While this is generally a good thing however, it could have negative consequences too. Upgrades can render items unusable, unless you are very lucky.
Armor items can be upgraded to improve their stats. For instance, if you have a helm or chest, this will increase its defense base while gloves and belts enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor also has a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it may change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain when upgrading, along with the relative value of those stats. This means that a weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However
upgrade item does not mean that it will be hit for 3 times less often because it's an absolute number.
A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circular arrows within the item menu. This will reroll an item and alter its stats, but it will not reset the weapon's levels, or tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make all the difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can provide MASSIVE increases in resistance to curses, poisons fire, magic, and other. This can make it easier to traverse difficult terrains. In general, the greater defense your character has, the more value you get out of each point of health you have and it's crucial to improve your armor as often as you can.
To improve your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains within the game, and to unlock each one you have to complete a side quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main side quest and have completed the fountain that corresponds you'll be able to speak to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrade menu.
The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. In general, you'll be looking at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the initial upgrade, then anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. For example the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a good-sized group of adversaries in most cold climates and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to withstand the full-on assault with a few of your friends.
You can't upgrade your armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or spell power. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades for armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you'll wear for the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
You can also unlock some perks for your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. In general, you should keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to beat the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be useful to have some improvements to the chest armor and helmets that allow you to stealth around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed give the user an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions, each having a specific set of effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, increasing the effectiveness of their effects. Additionally, the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust them.
Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP. This can be earned by making them on a table or in an Alchemist's chest. The price of upgrades changes depending on what kind of potion you wish to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and rarity.
To upgrade a potion, right-click it in your inventory. Then select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI that lets you select the potion you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP level.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not be degraded until you use it again, or break the bottle it's stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to rename it.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanism of potions. For example the splash potions now have a duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds displayed on the item hover display). The table for potion can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can now be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons, unlike Java Edition. Also, putting a potion in a cauldron that is full drains the potion and replenishes the bottle.
Lastly, there are now lingering potions, which are made using splash and dragon breath potions. Similar to lingering potions, the can be enhanced by adding redstone to it. The potion table has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, for instance, the potion of leaping and decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is a tiny and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose but isn't particularly significant, such as a tiny thimble. In some cultures, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, specifically between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players as well as weapons or armor, as well as potions. They can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. In contrast to other upgrades for items trinkets are able to be traded out at any time without losing their stats.
Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered with tokens, gold, or fragments from rare trinkets.
Upgrades to trinkets are an affordable alternative to buying a new one. It can be done by players for just 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same level of base as the previous trinket however, it will also come with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.

When the old Trinkets are not usable, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players, making them a popular alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are upgraded first then their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment that won't replace anytime soon (such as an earring or a cloak). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade. For example If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should be focusing on upgrading their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and chest.
After they've become unusable trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade can ruin the previous trinket, unless it is salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still less expensive than purchasing a new one.
