15 Reasons To Not Ignore Cheap Single Pushchair
Cheap Single Pushchairs
If you're on a budget and don't require a stroller that can double into a car seat carrier, the Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It has a simple one-step foot brake that's flip-flop friendly.
It's also a breeze to push and feels sturdy in navigating kerbs or woodland paths. It's also easy to fold.
1. Babyzen YOYO2
The Babyzen YOYO2 has earned itself a reputation as the ultimate stroller that is light, ideal for city dwellers as for jet-setters. This is thanks to its extremely nimble handling and fold-down design that can be incorporated into an aeroplane's overhead luggage. This latest version boasts independent suspension on all four wheels that is made of Hytrel elastomer that allows it to perfectly navigate through all kinds of surfaces and terrain'.
The curved fabric bassinet, base YOYO2 frame and 6months of colour pack come together to create a sleek pushchair with a subtle elegant look. The frame's weight is less than a kilo, and is so light that you can lift it out of the box using just one hand.
The hood, for instance, snaps on the YOYO2 with a reassuring way. It is also machine washable at 30deg which helps prevent the stains that result from smushed carrot puffs and rice cakes. It can be used as a pram from birth using the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted to a stroller after 6 months old by clicking on the YOYO Connect additional chassis.
2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore
The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a great option for parents looking for a stroller that can be used in a variety of ways. The Evenflo Pivot Xplore can be converted from a stroller to a wagon by simply flipping the handle. Parents can then choose which mode is best for their journey. The wagon can hold one or two kids from 6 months to 5 years old, and it comes with a large storage basket that can accommodate everything you need on the go.
The Xplore also has two canopies that move from front to back, ensuring ample sun protection for all family members. It has a smaller footwell than other wagons. This might not be suitable for long trips or naps.
The frame of the Xplore feels sturdy and solid but it doesn't have as much flexibility as other wagons we tried.
sources tell me is also more difficult than other wagons to fold and does not lock tightly when folded. It is easy to maneuver however, and can be able to fit through narrow 28-inch doors.
3. Delta Children LX Side by Side
This Delta Children bare-bones travel stroller is a great choice for parents looking for a second stroller that's priced reasonably. It scored highly in our Strollers and Multiples Test for weight and fold dimensions. This means it's lightweight and compact when folded and easy to move and store in a trunk of a car. It also comes with the option of reclining in multiple positions and a cup holder for the parent. Other key features include two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling and 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels.
In our test of the push and turn, it did better than most of the other strollers of a similar price we tested, but it's still not the easiest to maneuver on uneven terrain or through narrow doors. Its sunshades are among the ones we tested the smallest, providing only direct overhead coverage and no peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 and Zoe Twin+ have significantly larger sunshades.
It took us under 3 minutes to assemble the Delta with a manual. The parts are all non-required and required tools. However, it's missing some critical features that we think it is important to consider as non-negotiable features in a double stroller for example, a larger basket, and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.
4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1
The Zelia is Maxi-Cosi’s newest pushchair that is advertised as a travel system for urban use. It can be used from birth until around 3.5-years-old. The carrycot and seat can be converted easily with a few clicks. It can be used with Maxi Cosi capsule car seats. It includes a light Mico 30 infant seat, a stay-in-car-base and reversible carriage.
It's a breeze to manoeuvre and the one-hand recline of the seat and the massive shopping basket make it easy for parent-tots to get the child in and out quickly. This compact pushchair can handle all day bumps and doorways with ease.
The front wheels can be locked in a forward position or allow them to rotate which can be helpful when crossing rough terrain. On our walk on the stony path, we allowed them to swivel and it did this quite well although it did seem more bumpy than the other models that we tested.
5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2
Baby Jogger is most famous for its 3-wheeled, all-terrain, jogging strollers. But they also produce a wide range of 4-wheeler pushchairs. City Tour 2 is their most popular model. It folds easily and fits in the car's boot even with a carrycot attached.
It weighs more than other strollers we've test, but since it has rubber composite wheels it feels sturdy and well-made. It maneuvers expertly across different kinds of terrain, and it's easy to carry even with two children and a shopping bag.
Both the seat and carrycot have hoods that are able to be lower to reveal the UV50and sun canopy extension. They are waterproof and strong, unlike some other pram hoods that get whipped back into toddlers' faces.
It doesn't have a lot of storage space, however it does have a large basket that's large enough to fit an infant's changing bag and plenty of food items. You can also connect it with the Baby Jogger infant car seat to create a traveling system for infants up to 20 lb (car seat and adapters sold separately). If you need a stroller that is able to be taken on the road, then the City Tour 2 is an ideal choice.
6. Nuna Mixx Next
When the Nuna Mixx first appeared on the scene it stole the hearts of parents all over the world. It's a stroller made of aluminum that will see you through your baby's early days and beyond. It has many standout features, such as the capacity of the seat to be turned between the front facing parent and the outside, a large UPF50+ canopy with an eye-shade that flips out, as well as an adjustable handlebar.
The chassis comes with a built-in suspension system that helps reduce the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are constructed of tough foam, which reduces punctures. Our tester found it to be smooth to push and was able to manoeuvre it through narrow streets with ease.
It folds down in four easy steps and automatically locks without fuss. It can also be rolled and repositioned for easy transport down the stairs or in the boot of the car. The travel system comes offered with the option to add an additional car seat or carrycot using the adaptors that are included. The brakes are one action and are color coded. They also work with flip-flops.
7. Babyzen Duet
This budget-friendly pushchair is simple to operate and features an excellent dual suspension. It folds with one hand and comes with a convenient carrying strap. It's also lightweight and durable. The seat can be reclined into many different positions. It also comes with a double breathable mattress that is suitable for babies.
The canopy/seat comes with two extra-large fixed or flip out sun visors. Both are UPF50+. However, the toggle closure isn't great - it's not as silent as Velcro and may wake napping babies.
The Duet is an angled stroller that can be used by twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seats and works with some carrycots. In twin mode, the seats can face one another or turn around and face the parents, theoretically decreasing sibling rivalries over who should sit with mom and dad. It has a huge bottle holder, gear tray, snack trays and the ability to change mats. It also comes with an automatic frame lock as well as a compact fold.
8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2
The Thule Urban glide 2 is a great jogger for parents who love to be active. It is one of the lightest strollers for running that you can purchase for your child. It also has great safety features, including the 5-point safety harness and wrist safety strap. It also comes with a twist hand brake which is different than the lever type that is found on other models.
The seat is well-padded and has a wide area to sit in, but the seat's depth is less than other joggers we've tried (it's approximately 10"). The storage bin is covered with a zipper to keep things safe. It can hold 10 lbs. This is enough for the majority of diaper bags.
The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters to fit most bassinets and infant car seats, but you can use them starting from the first day using adapters that work with brands such as BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It folds down compactly and takes about 5-10 minutes to put together with no tools. The user manual is easy to read and comes in a variety of languages.
