Volvo owners appreciate the convenience of their key fob's remote features. By using a smartphone application, they can lock and unlock the vehicle as well as start the engine and even locate the vehicle.

Take it off by sliding it downwards, then to the right. The cover will be released, and then slide off to reveal the manual blade! If you're not able to locate the button, check the now-revealed manual key access to find the lever or slot that is hidden.

Close the Windows

Volvo key fobs feature an unnoticed feature that allows you to instantly roll down all windows. This is useful when trying to squeeze into a cramped parking space, or simply when you want to get some fresh air in the cabin while driving.

Press and hold the unlocking button on your Volvo remote control for four seconds. This will lower all the windows, and the sunroof if it has one. After you've finished using the vehicle, you can shut all windows by pressing the lock key for four seconds.

You can also use your key fob for activating your car's panic alarm. It will emit the alarm sound loud enough to draw attention to the car and deter thieves. It will also assist you get home safely in the event that you've been away all night. This feature is great for those who reside in a hazardous area or wish to ensure the safety of your family when you are away from home.

Opening the Tailgate

Volvo has loaded its key fobs with many useful features. They are great when you're juggling shopping or helping your kids pack their sports gear after a workout.

If you have the Hands-Free Liftgate with Logo Projection and Programmable Height (if equipped) You can open it with the key fob. Press the button to open it, then use the same button to close it when you're done.

Turning Off the Alarm

Find a clean work surface and lay out your key fob, battery and any other keys. Locate the small black button on the left-hand corner of the key fob and slide it to the right. The cover will begin to loosen and fall off, revealing the mechanical key blade underneath.

Press the button to unlock the key fob twice quickly and you'll be able to unlock all the doors, as well as the tailgate. The lock button also shuts the windows and sunroof (if fitted) by pressing it for two seconds. Reconnect the battery, and the alarm will stop. If it doesn't, the owner's manual should have a way to reset the alarm.
