By using the tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver gently pry open the case. It should fall apart easily without damaging the rubber ring underneath which the battery sits.

After the battery is exposed, remove it and put it away somewhere that you will not forget it. Then, place the new battery in its place ensuring that the positive (+) side of the battery is facing up. After the battery is in place, close up the case making sure both sides snap into place. What is the battery in a key fob?
