The level of an item can help players evaluate the strength of equipment when deciding to purchase or sell. It's an excellent gauge of an item's worth and how much damage it will be capable of causing. Comparing items in a vendor's stock can be done by using the level of the item.

On your PC, you can view the item level by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the item's full description, including the ilvl. It can also be found by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.


There are a few theories about how the calculation of the item's level is made. item upgrade is that the level is a numerical value derived from a formula which calculates how much an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration that different advantages are valued differently and that gems found in sockets increase the item's value. Another thing that could be changed is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to reroll the attachments, or pick which stats to boost. However, as with the base equipment, this would need to be carried out on a per-item basis and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the likelihood of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops and the strength of these properties. However, it doesn't directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives the player a chance to upgrade their equipment in earlier waves, and is therefore more valuable in early game runs than in later ones, because most players value greater weapon scaling and defense over the raw damage gain.

Luck can also increase the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading that increase with each new level of item. These can also be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to boost the Luck of an item up to 140.

Furthermore some items, like the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow can be used to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. item upgrader can be bought from the shop, or they can be crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are a costly process and not all upgrades will succeed. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chances of success for an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item if it does not work.

The rate of success of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The probability of success can only be increased as high, and the probability that the upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The Luck of an item can also influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. Every item has an average success rate of 25 percent and every item with Luck increases this chance by 5percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects can be obscured by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
