Twilight Princess Isn't As Tough As You Think
Twilight Princess Game Review
Twilight Princess is the darkest, most serious and serious Nintendo 3D Zelda game. It pushes the visual presentation of the Wii to its limits. It's darker and more unsettling than The Wind Waker. There aren't any bug-eyed pigs, nor effeminate Pirates.
Link is drawn to a different dimension known as Twilight Realm where he takes on the form of both the form of a Hylian wolf and a Hylian while being guided by Midna.
Gameplay
Twilight Princess is the thirteenth installment in The Legend of Zelda series. It was released for Nintendo GameCube and Wii systems in 2006. Critics praised the game, giving it perfect scores in various publications such as 1UP CVG EGM and GamesRadar. It is widely regarded as the best in the entire franchise, and it was the top-selling Zelda game on the PAL market.
Twilight Princess has a stylized, naturalistic graphic style that is reminiscent of Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time, but with a more sophisticated graphic engine. It's the first game in the series with an entirely directional control system instead of a fixed-point perspective like previous games. This modification was made to accommodate the Wii console's point-based interface. The GameCube version of the game has a section at the back with mirror-image maps for players who prefer the fixed view.

After entering the Twilight Realm, Link is transformed into a wolf and comes across Midna, the mysterious creature. She is able to reveal that the kingdom of Hyrule has been taken over by a group of shadow beasts commanded by the evil sorcerer Zant. She also explains that she is the real ruler of Twili but was supplanted by Zant and cursed to her current form.
A short cutscene shows the soldiers being killed by shadow beasts when Link and Midna reach Hyrule Castle. Link and Midna then escape from the castle by an entrance tunnel to enter the Twilight Realm.
Link can move more freely around the world in the Twilight Realm by using his Wolf form. Link can also make use of his senses to navigate the world. For instance, he could sense the spirits of dead soldiers and other animals that are in the distance. He can also pick grass from certain patches and then whistle with it to summon an animal, for instance a Hawk or Epona. Alternatively, Link can howl near these patches to summon the same animal.
Twilight Princess is no different from previous Zelda titles in that music plays a significant role. Link can play a musical instrument, such as the flute or the harp, to draw and call upon various animals. He can also control the wolf's appearance through his voice. He can also use his compass as a guide to help him navigate the world.
Characters
The Legend of Zelda is full of vibrant and unique characters that will leave an impression that will last forever. From hands coming out of toilets to pirate sailors sailing across vast oceans, these quirky and creative personalities are the core of the game. Twilight Princess continues in the tradition of previous games, and introduces many memorable characters.
Throughout the story, Link meets new NPCs that are not just interesting, but also believable. It's a huge step towards the right direction that many of these NPCs actually play a part in the story rather than just being a victim. NPCs like Rusl who explains that the forest is dangerous now and kidnaps kids as well as the Ordon villager who disguises himself as a wolf when the kids are kidnapped all have distinct personalities.
Other notable characters are Iza who manages the Boat Rental Caf in Lanayru Province and Iza's rapid ride, Louise Telma’s cat, who aids Wolf Link find a secret way into the castle via her bar and sewer system, and Faron his spirit guides Link to the Forest Temple in Eldin Province. The duo defeats the Fused Shadow possessed by Diababa and receives the first Tear of Light.
Midna is the princess of the Twilight Realm and one of the most captivating characters in the game. She has a sliver of the Triforce of Wisdom and can shift between her human form and her impish wolf form. She tells Link about her experiences at the twilight, and about how she defeated Zant the King of Twilight.
Zant who is the other half of the Triforce of Wisdom, is a wicked sorcerer and ruler of the Twilight Realm. The goddesses banished him to Twilight Realm for enslaving their people and enslaving their territory. Zant's magic keeps him permantently in wolf form, but Midna eliminates the power and allows him to change into his human form whenever required.
The game also includes an upgraded horse named Epona, which is ridden in Hylian and wolf forms. Link can whistle around certain patches of grass to call the animal (similar to Majora's Mask). The player can identify the horse, making Twilight Princess the first time in the series that a player can personalize their own horse.
Theme
Music is one of the most important parts of any Zelda game, and it can make a place feel vast exciting, epic, and thrilling. However, Twilight Princess is criticized for having an inconsistent and unreliable soundtrack that doesn't capture the emotional impact of certain moments. Contrastingly, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask have captivating music that bloom at the right moment to create a sense of majestic and eerie.
princess starlight demo was composed by Asuka Ohta and Toru Minegishi. Koji Kondo, the composer of the series for the first time since Wind Waker was in charge of overseeing the composers. The soundtrack for Twilight Princess is a radical departure from the typical approach to the series, with a minimalistic approach to music and arrangements. The majority of music from dungeons and fields begins with a single instrumental creating a mystical and atmospheric ambiance for the player. For instance, the haunting music in Midna's Lament utilizes a simple piano to create an overflowing feeling of sadness for the player.
The most well-known examples are dungeon themes which have a dreary atmosphere. This is particularly evident in Twilight Realm, which has an unsettling soundscape that is reminiscent of scenes in an original David Lynch movie. The lack of melody and the traditional arrangement of this track emphasizes its dark, eerie nature. Drones and odd patterns are interspersed to create a bleak texture.
A more uplifting and joyous song is Link's hometown, "Faron Woods." The song makes use of various soft sounds and stringed instruments to evoke an idyllic sense of peace and safety for the player. The song has an ode to the most famous scene in the franchise because it has a riff that is similar to the famous melody that plays at the Ocarina of Time's beginning.
Twilight Princess also has dynamic songs that change depending on the player's location, what they do and what's happening. Hyrule Castle Town has different versions of the theme for each area of the town. Central Square, for example, has a more raucous version. These variations are a great touch that helps to add a sense of depth and immersion into the world of Hyrule.
Story
The story of Twilight Princess revolves around Link trying to prevent Hyrule from being engulfed by the corrupted parallel dimension referred to as the Twilight Realm. To do this, he adopts the form of a Hylian and a Wolf and is being assisted by a woman named Midna.
Midna is the first ruler of the Twili, but she was supplanted by Zant and cursed into her imp form. Link and Midna are instructed by the Sages of the past that only by defeating Ganondorf will be able to free them from their curse. The Sages then reveal that the Mirror of Twilight is the source of the darkness that exists in the Twilight Realm. Midna and Link journey to the Spirit's Spring where they encounter hostile creatures that kidnap kids. With Wolf Link's keen sense of smell, they follow the children's scent to a bridge before they cross into the Twilight Realm.
They enter the Forest Temple and battle Diababa, obtaining the first Fused Shadow. Following this, Faron informs them that the next stop is the Eldin Province to the west (Wii) or east (GCN).
Midna at the Lakebed Temple of Lanayru teleports Link onto a fiery stone and uses her powers on the ice beneath Lake Hylia. Rutela's spirit who is the recently deceased Zora queen appears to Link and tells Link that he must visit the Lakebed Temple if he wants to access the treasure of the Zora.
Twilight Princess allows you to ride Epona the horse from Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask. Link can select the name of the horse, in contrast to the predetermined names used in previous games.
When they arrive in the Twilight Realm, Midna and Link recover the remaining Mirror Shards. At the Palace of Twilight, the Sages declare that Midna is actually the true ruler of the Twili however she had been ostracized by the monarchy and turned to a god to obtain power. The Sages also inform them that the only way to defeat Ganondorf is to bring him back to the light and break the pact between Twilight and Hyrule kingdoms.
