Keyless Entry System
Keyless entry systems are an effective method of securing your rental property, without having to use physical keys. These systems allow guests and tenants to enter the building with codes, or using their smartphones. They can be used with intercoms for video or audio communication. This gives people multiple ways to enter buildings. Some keyless entry systems run on cloud and can be controlled remotely and provide more advanced features.
Keyless entry systems can be installed on any commercial or residential property. The hardware first needs to be installed at every entryway. The system must then be operated and controlled via a central console, or an app for smartphones. The keyless entry system market is expected to grow at an annual rate of 11.8% between 2016 and 2022, according to Technavio. The increase in the market is due to the rising demand for security systems in commercial vehicles.
Many people worry about being locked out of their homes. Therefore, they usually keep the spare key in a safe spot. This practice, however poses a significant security risk since criminals are aware of the places people store their keys and are able to find them. To avoid this happening, it's best to install a keyless entry system installed in your home. This will ensure that you aren't ever being locked out of your home again.
Transponder Chip
The transponder chip or "chip key" is an electronic micro-chip built into the head of your car key, it's also one of the main security features of your vehicle. The term "transponder" is derived from the combination of responder and transmitter which is because, when the key is put into the ignition and then turned, the antenna ring of your car transmits a flash of radio frequency energy to the transponder chip. The chip responds with its unique identification code to the ring that is attached to it and the car's computers can decipher that information and determine whether or not it is a genuine key.
If the key is not a transponder, the vehicle will be locked. The chip is protected by a special polycarbonate layer which prevents it from being copied or duplicated by regular mechanical keys. Beishir Lock and Security carries an extensive selection of transponder keys for sale at much less cost than of dealerships for cars.
Transponder chips began to gain popularity in the 80's, when GM introduced them into the Corvette. This technology drastically reduced the number of vehicle thefts because hot-wiring became obsolete. This is a basic explanation of the chip key's function and should you have any queries do not hesitate to contact us.
Immobiliser System
The engine immobiliser (also known as the anti-theft system) is an important feature of your vehicle's security. When you insert your key into the ignition switch or Smart Key fob, the transponder chip inside it sends a code to the vehicle's Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The ECU confirms that the code transmitted by the chip matches the code saved in it and only then allows the engine to begin.
This is the principal way that the immobiliser of your car stops theft. If the code on the chip isn't compatible it, the ECU stops the flow of current to the fuel pump relay and the injection system, preventing the engine from getting started. Additionally the immobiliser could disable the starter motor or the ignition coil to stop the engine from starting by force.
Unfortunately, this system is not foolproof. Thieves can crack the code that allows you to unlock the car's immobiliser system, and start it up. However, the newest versions of these systems have an extended cryptographic sequence which is more difficult to deduce.
Since 1998, car immobilisers have been required. However, a majority of vehicles already had rudimentary systems. It's also worth noting that even though an immobiliser makes it harder to steal a car, it doesn't prevent thieves from towing away from it or breaking into the vehicle to gain access to your possessions.
Key Replacement
The loss of a remote or key fob can be expensive and stressful.
thekeylab will need to gain access to the vehicle to decode the VIN or run it and then reprogram the replacement key to erase any signatures that were previously stored in the computer for keys that were stolen or lost.
If your car comes with an integrated security chip, also known as a transponder, in the key, this will make replacing the key more expensive. These chips send an electronic signal to the car which proves your identity as the driver and allows the doors to unlock or the engine to start. The typical price for the replacement of a smart key is approximately $160.
