Keyless Entry System
Keyless entry systems are a great method of securing your rental property, without having to use physical keys. These systems allow guests and tenants to enter the building using the use of a code or using their smartphones. These systems can be paired with intercoms for video or audio communication. This gives people a variety of ways to enter buildings. Certain keyless entry systems utilize cloud-based technology which allows them to be managed remotely. They also provide more advanced features.
You can install a keyless entry system in any kind of property whether residential or commercial. The hardware first needs to be installed at each entryway. The system then needs to be controlled and configured via central consoles or a smartphone app. The global keyless entry systems market is expected to expand at an annual rate of 11.8% between 2016 and 2022, according to Technavio. The market's growth is attributed to the growing demand for security systems in commercial vehicles.
Many people fear being locked out of their home Therefore, they keep spare keys in a safe location. This practice, however, can pose a serious security risk as criminals know the places people store their keys and can track them. To prevent this from happening, it's best to have a keyless entry system installed at your residence. This will ensure that you never get locked out again.
Transponder Chip
The transponder chip or "chip key" is an electronic microchip built into the head of your car key. It's also one of the most important security features of your vehicle. The term "transponder" originates from the combination of the responder and transmitter. This is because, after the key has been fitted into the ignition and the key is turned around, the antenna inside your car transmits a radio frequency energy to a transponder chip. The chip responds by transmitting its unique identification code back to the antenna ring. The car's computer interprets this information and decides whether it's valid or not.
If the key isn't a transponder the vehicle will be impounded. The chip is protected by a polycarbonate layer that blocks it from being copied or duplicated using regular mechanical keys. Beishir Lock and Security carries a wide assortment of transponder keys at a fraction of the cost of dealerships selling cars.
In the 1980s, GM began to introduce transponder chips inside the Corvette. This technology dramatically reduced vehicle thefts as hot-wiring was made obsolete. This is a very basic explanation of how a chip key works and if you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
Immobiliser System
The engine immobiliser system (also known as the anti-theft system) is an essential element of your car's security. When you insert your key into the ignition switch or Smart Key fob, the transponder chip inside will send a code to the vehicle's Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The ECU confirms that the code transmitted by the chip matches the one stored in it and only then allows the engine to begin.
This is the primary way the immobiliser in your car prevents theft. If the code on the chip is not in sync the code on the ECU will block the flow of current from the fuel pump relay to the injection system, and stop the engine from getting started. Additionally the immobiliser may disable the starter motor or the ignition coil, preventing the engine from starting by force.
Unfortunately, this system is not completely secure. Thieves are able to crack the code used to unlock your car's immobiliser system and then start it. However, the most recent versions of these systems feature a more cryptographic sequences that will be more difficult to determine.
Since 1998 the immobilisers for cars have become mandatory. However, many cars already had basic systems in place. Although an immobiliser makes it more difficult for thieves to steal a car, it does not stop thieves from towing the vehicle away or breaking in to steal your belongings.
Key Replacement
If you lose your key fob or remote, it can be a hassle and very expensive. Locksmiths must gain access to the vehicle and decode the VIN or run it, and then reprogram the new replacement key to erase any old signatures in the computer for all keys that have been stolen or lost.
If your car comes with a security chip, also known as a transponder, inside the key, this can make the replacement more expensive. These chips send a signal to the car, which confirms your identity as a driver, and permits the doors to be opened or the engine to start. The average cost for the replacement of a smart key is around $160.
