Keyless Entry System
Keyless entry systems are a great way to secure your rental home without having to use physical keys. These systems allow guests and tenants to enter the building by using a code or their mobile phones. They can also be integrated with intercoms to offer audio and video messages offering different ways for people to access the building. Some keyless entry systems are cloud-based, allowing them to be managed remotely and offer more advanced features.
You can install a keyless entry system in any type of property, whether residential or commercial. First, the hardware needs to be installed at every entryway. The system then needs to be configured and controlled via a central console or via a smartphone app. According to Technavio the global keyless entry system market is expected to expand at an annual growth rate between 2016 to 2022 of 11.8%. The growth in the market is due to the increasing demand for security systems for commercial vehicles.
Many people fear being locked out of their homes So they keep spare keys in a secure place. This poses a significant security risk, as criminals know where they keep their keys, and can easily find the keys. Installing a keyless entry in your home is the ideal option to stop this. This will ensure that you aren't ever being locked out of your home again.
Transponder Chip
The transponder chip or "chip key" is an electronic micro-
chip placed inside the head of your car key. It's also one of the most important security features of your vehicle. The term "transponder" is derived from the combination of transmitter and responder which is because, when the key is inserted into the ignition and then turned, the antenna ring on your car sends a blast of radio frequency energy to the transponder chip. The chip then responds with its unique identification code to the antenna ring. the car's computer can then discern that code and determine if it's a valid key.
If the key isn't transponder the vehicle will be unable to move. The chip is protected by a polycarbonate coating that prevents it from being copied using mechanical keys that are used in regular use or copied using laser equipment. Beishir Lock and Security carries a wide assortment of transponder keys for sale at a fraction of the cost of dealerships selling cars.
In the 1980s, GM began to introduce transponder chips inside the Corvette. The technology dramatically reduced car thefts because hot-wiring became obsolete. This is a brief explanation of how a chip key works and should you have any queries, feel free to contact us.
Immobiliser System
The engine immobiliser system (also called the anti-theft) is an essential element of your vehicle's security. When you insert your key into the ignition switch or Smart Key fob, the transponder chip inside sends an electronic code to the vehicle's Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The ECU checks that the code sent from the chip matches the one stored in it prior to allowing the engine to start.
This is the main way the immobiliser in your car prevents theft. If the code in the chip isn't compatible the code in the chip, the ECU blocks the flow of current to the fuel pump relay as well as the injection system, keeping the engine from beginning. Additionally the immobiliser can disable the starter motor and the ignition coil in order to prevent the engine from starting by force.
Unfortunately this method isn't completely secure. Thieves could crack the code used to unlock the immobiliser in your car and start it up. However, the newest versions of these systems feature a an extended cryptographic sequence which should be harder to determine.
Car immobilisers are mandatory since 1998, but many vehicles had rudimentary immobiliser systems fitted prior to the introduction of immobilisers. It is also worth noting that while an immobiliser makes it more difficult to steal a car it does not stop thieves from towing away from it or breaking into the vehicle to gain access to your possessions.
Key Replacement
Losing a remote or key fob could be costly and can be a hassle. Locksmiths will need to gain entry to the car, decode or run the VIN and then reprogramme the new replacement to erase any signatures from the computer for all of keys that were lost or stolen.
If your car is fitted with an integrated security chip, also known as a transponder, inside the key, this can make a replacement much more costly. The chips transmit an electronic signal to your car that confirms that you are the driver, and allow doors to be opened and the engine started. The average price for replacing a smart key is $160.
ABUS strongly recommends that you register your key code shortly after purchase so that you can easily purchase spare keys or additional keys in the future. This is done by entering your Key Code on the checkout page and selecting CANADA as your shipping country. You can also register keys based on images of your spare key that you have taken at specific angles.
