Why We Love Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet (And You Should, Too!) The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

Whether you've got carpet with a high or low pile there's a robotic vacuum for you. These intelligent appliances can navigate your home automatically and pick up dirt and clean under furniture.

Many have advanced features like mapping, which allows them to navigate your home and remember furniture placement. They can also increase suction power to tackle dirtier areas.

iRobot Roomba 694

The Roomba by iRobot is a basic robot vacuum that performs well on both plain flooring and floor carpets with a low pile. It has a decent suction and can clean most debris, however it isn't able to handle larger debris such as rice or sand. It also does a decent job at cleaning pet hair but it's not resistant to tangling like the premium Roomba models like the I6 or j7.

The Roomba is easy to operate. It has three buttons on its top cover. Clean, which initiates a cleaning session and 'Dock' that puts it in its charging station, and 'Spot,' which activates a targeted cleaning. It can be controlled via an app on your smartphone that lets you schedule cycles, stop/start the cycle and change settings. You can also pair the device to smart home devices such as Alexa or Google Assistant to control it by voice commands.

This vacuum cleaner is slower than some others, but it is able to be able to reach the majority of corners and crevices. It has a large bin that makes it easy to empty. It's compatible with digital barriers and virtual barriers that let you make it impossible to clean certain areas or to stop completely cleaning if you want to keep it from getting stuck on something.

Although it's not the top model for its price but it's far superior to other alternatives. The Roborock E4 has a better cleaning efficiency than the Roomba 694 and it can clean both carpets with low pile as well as bare. It also has a more durable battery and a cleaner route. It is also more robust, has fewer parts that require regular maintenance, costs less over its lifetime, and charges faster than 694.

You should also consider other models in the iRobot range, like the v7 or 981. The v7 and 981 are more expensive, but they offer significant improvements in cleaning performance both on low and bare pile floors. They also have a larger dirt compartment, charge faster, move more easily and are easier to pair with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This budget self-emptying robot vacuum cleaner does an excellent job on carpets with low piles and hard floors. The combination brush is able to reach the edges and corners, and it automatically increases suction when it spots carpet. It also is effective in cleaning dirt embedded in carpets that are mid-pile. The IQ's small footprint for docks and the self-emptying feature are great features. However, if you wish to alter the floor level on the map, or set no-go zones, you'll need to manually reset it in order to do this, which is quite an inconvenience.

The IQ's app has some advanced mapping and automation capabilities however, it's not able to access no-go zones which are included on iRobot models. Its smart-pathing navigation system provides superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode is clean well, although it tends to get caught up in rug tassels. Its iHome speaker allows you to control the robot with voice commands.

During our tests, the IQ was able to handle pet hair effectively, clearing huge amounts of hair from bare floors and fair amounts on medium-pile carpet. It was less efficient on shag carpets, which was a struggle to reach dirt and dust that was embedded in the fibers. It was able to maneuver the legs of chairs, small spaces, and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was a bit slower on floors with no flooring however it soon recovered speed and performed more thoroughly than the other robots we tested.

The IQ is a more suitable choice for the majority of users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a larger dustbin and a longer battery life and is more adept at navigating around obstacles. It has a mopping tool that can clean up sticky messes. On the other hand, the iRobot feels better-built and has fewer components that require replacement or maintenance and has lower recurring costs and creates virtual no-go zones with its companion app. It is able to continue cleaning from where it left off even if its battery runs out before it finishes. The iRobot can also be controlled with voice commands, which is an enormous benefit for many users.

Eufy 11S

The eufy RoboVac 11S robot vacuum isn't one of the most advanced models, but it does offer excellent cleaning power for an affordable price. It's designed for those who don't require a complicated mapping system or app to control the device. This robot will last for over an hour. It includes the remote control, cleaning tool, and AC power adapter.

The 11S is slim and sleek, with a tempered glass upper deck that covers plastic and is made to look like brushed aluminum. It's a nice change from the industrial and utilitarian designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.

The eufy11S performed well in our tests to remove larger particles and fine dust from floors. It struggled to deep clean medium and high-pile carpets. It also has a tendency to smack into furniture and other objects in its path, but it's able to detect obstacles with sensors. It stops and emits a loud ring when it comes across an obstruction. You can then manually steer the device around it and return it to working.

The BoostIQ mode is a great feature of the eufy11S. It lets you set the robot up to automatically adjust the suction force based on the type of floor and the level of dirt. The remote control makes it easy to direct the 11S to the desired location.

If you don't have a lot of furniture in the space where you'd like to vacuum, Single Room Mode is an excellent alternative. The eufy can spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the area it is assigned.

You can also opt for Edge Cleaning that restricts the amount of time in each location to 20 minutes for maximum battery life. If you select this option the eufy moves in a spiral pattern to clean edges and corners for a thorough clean.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 canister robot is a great mid-range vacuum cleaner that performs well on carpet. Its performance is also excellent on bare floors. It can pick up rice and other small particles easily. The suction power doesn't diminish as the dirt bin fills. Its design that is allergy-friendly and sealed with air will trap allergens to keep your family healthy. It comes with an onboard HEPA filter and a self-emptying bin, so you don't have to buy additional filters or a separate bag for your vacuum.

It's not as powerful as the more expensive models, but it's still ideal for fighting dirt and deep cleaning. It has two front cameras that deliver a live feed to your smartphone. It also has one of the most advanced obstacle avoidance systems. It also has a big dustbin, a long runtime and a quick, bump-free clean-up.

The Complete C1 is unlike most robots because it can switch between a standard head and a turbo to suit different kinds of flooring. best affordable robot vacuum is best on low-pile or high-pile carpeting while the standard powerhead is suitable for floors with no flooring and light carpets. It also has an automatic height adjustment system which allows it to easily adapt to various types of flooring without any manual adjustments.

This model is included with the SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead, which can be used on hard floors and carpets of medium pile. The powerhead can be easily maneuvered and get into difficult areas. It comes with five levels of surface adjustments and a brushroll off switch to prevent hairs from getting tangled.

The Classic C1 also has a self-cleaning brush roll as well as an UtraClean mode that goes around the same area three times to ensure the most thorough cleaning and a self-emptying trash bin that can be emptied with the push of a button. The sound level of this model is more pronounced than other models. However, its powerful motor with 1,200 watts and durable construction are worth the extra cost.
