iRobot Roomba j7+

The j7+ from iRobot is a high-end robot vacuum that comes with a self-emptying dust bin. The robot uses iRobot’s Dirt Detect Technology, which identifies dirtier areas on the floor and boosts its suction power in order to take more debris out. It also comes with a camera that assists in navigation and avoid obstacles, and it can even detect pet messes and activate its cleaning mode.

The j7+ features an elegant design that is attractive in any space and is much quieter than the other self-emptying robot vacuums we've test. Its internal dustbin feels sturdier than those of its competitors and the external bin is easy to lift open using a lever. The app and virtual assistant set-up process took only several minutes and the robot was able to respond well to voice commands.

The j7+ can be used with Alexa, Google Assistant and can be programmed to clean at different times and places. The robot wasn't as adept at recognizing voices. The microphone could pick up a lot ambient noise and interfere with voice-activated functions.

The performance on the floor is impressive, collecting 9.35 grams of debris per run. It might appear to be a tiny amount, but it is enough to support the manual cleaning required by an entire machine. It does struggle to climb the high pile carpet, and it may get caught in rug tassels, but overall it's one of the best robot vacuums for floors that aren't clean.

The iRobot Genius function is very useful, as you can create floor plans that the J7+ will follow. You can set the plans to run on autopilot and set a timer to inform the robot when to begin cleaning. It comes with cliff sensors, floor-tracking sensors, and an inbuilt camera to ensure that it follows a consistent path around your home.

The iRobot j7+'s battery lasts for 86 minutes which is a typical time for robot vacuums. If it begins getting low before the task is done it will return to its dock to recharge and resume where it left off. The dock also has the ability to automatically empty the j7+ internal dust bin. This is an excellent feature we wish that more brands had.

Samsung Jet Bot+

Samsung's sleek-looking Jet Bot+ is one of the most high-tech robot vacuums available. It offers great filtering, powerful sucking, and excellent obstacle avoidance all without making too much noise. It can be controlled by a dedicated app or popular virtual assistants such as Alexa and Google Assistant.

The Jet Bot+ connects easily to your Wi-Fi with the help of app's prompts. Then, you can make use of the SmartThings app to remotely schedule cleaning sessions and track the device's progress.

You can also use the map feature of the app to determine which areas have been cleaned and which areas require attention. You can also set 'no-go zones' to prevent the robot from entering certain rooms or areas that you'd prefer to be avoid.

Home Page is a machine with high-tech features. It can detect obstacles and can even identify furniture dimensions, walls and other obstacles using the front camera. The advanced sensors of the Jet Bot+ can stop it from hitting things like charging cables and other items that could cause damage to the surrounding.

This robot vacuum that is high-tech is able to tackle all kinds of debris including pet hair. It struggled to remove the largest debris cereal pieces that had become excessively large due to being stuck together. It was able to eliminate the majority of dirt and other debris on hardwood floors, but it did not get a perfect score.

The Samsung Jet Bot+ is an excellent battery performer and will continue cleaning if it is required. The smart buttons on the body allow it to be stopped and paused mid-cleaning. The 0.3L dustbin is easily cleaned and emptied for added convenience.

Samsung's app is simple to use and provides a range of options to control the device. The app allows you to set up a cleaning schedule, choose different modes and view the status of the filter. Bixby, Samsung’s smart assistant, can be used to control the filter with voice commands.

Roomba S9+

The S9+ is a robotic that stands out for its amazing array of features. Its vSLAM uses cameras to map your home's layout and it can recall the layout up to 10 times. It also comes with the feature called Perfect Edge that ensures dirt in corners is removed even when the robot isn't flush against furniture or walls.

This robot also has strong suction, sucking up pet hair and dust easily in our tests. It also automatically adjusts its suction to match the floor type it's working on, which is a nice feature when you have a variety of surfaces in your home. This is a feature that we haven't encountered in other self-emptying robotic vacuums. It can make a big difference to how well your vacuum is cleaned.

This model also has an hygienic bin iRobot created to prevent mold spores, pollen and other allergens from re-entering the air. It has a transparent door at the bottom, which allows you to easily see the time to empty it. This is much easier than finding the small hole that is on the side.

Unlike earlier Roombas, which used a rear-mounted dustbin, the s9+ moved the dust bin to the top of the unit. This makes it easier to access and take away as well as having more capacity than earlier models.

The s9+ is simple to install and use using the iRobot application guiding you through the steps step-by-step. It supports Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and lets you use voice commands to start, pause or stop the vacuum.

The robot's navigation is also excellent, rarely needing any manual intervention during our tests. It's able of navigating around obstacles such as chairs and tables and even work under most low-clearance furniture, thanks to its relatively compact design. It can also be programmed to clean a specific area or to alter your floor space with the iRobot app.

Eufy 11s

The Eufy 11s robot vacuum is an excellent choice for those looking for a robovac which can do light cleaning on a daily basis, and doesn't come with many complicated features. It is also quiet and can run for up to 100 minutes. The 11s isn't a good choice for all floors. Particularly, if you have carpets with high pile. It has a main roller brush (which comprises a mixture of bristles and rubber flanges) and two trispoked side brushes.

There are a variety of different modes that you can select from when using the 11s, such as Auto, Single Room Spot, Single Room and Edge. There's also a Manual mode which lets you use the directional keys on the remote control to tell it to move forwards, backwards left or right.

In general, the 11s does a great job of collecting fine dust and large particles from hard floors, but it struggles with small debris such as baking soda. It also does a decent job of picking up hairs from pets.

It's not as smart as other robot vacuums. Instead of using more sophisticated mapping software it relies on bounce navigation. It is able to ping-pong across the floor until the battery is exhausted which isn't suitable for homes with a lot of furniture or particularly dusty.

In terms of maintenance The 11s's dirt compartment is easy to empty and has an open top. The filter is designed to be cleaned once a week and replaced every six months or so. It can be difficult to locate replacement parts however, the 11s is covered by a 1-year warranty. eufy is known for its quick response when there are issues with their products.

Samsung POWERbot R7040 is a fantastic robot vacuum for all types of flooring. It is more effective on carpeting that is not pile-free and has a low pile and has a larger dustbin, and is less expensive than the eufy RoboVac 11.
