There are exceptions for glyphs (which can only be inserted into gathering tools) and enchantments, which are able to be removed and put back in.

Insignias Enchantments, insignias, and prefix/suffix upgrades will be displayed in the hover display of the item, while they are added to the equipment's name (e.g. a Radiant Insignia would change the name into Radiant Tyrian Armor). The number of upgrades that are added to an item will be displayed in the tooltip for the item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are special characters that can be added into an OpenType font to add decorative or functional elements, like ligatures and fractions, ornaments, swashes, registered trademark symbols and ellipses. The Glyphs Panel allows you to insert and view these special characters as well as regular symbols like em and en dashes, as well being trademark symbols that are registered.

Each Glyph provides an initial boost in stats for the character. It also comes with up to four secondary stats that affect the radius of the glyph on your Paragon Board.
