Volvo drivers love their key fob's handy remote that comes with features. Utilizing a smartphone app, they can lock and unlock the vehicle as well as start the engine and even locate the vehicle.
Put

You can activate this feature with the key fob in case your car has a dealer installed Engine Remote Start. The car will then cool or heat to the exact temperature it was at while parked. It will operate for up to 15 minutes.
Remove the cover on the back of the key fob by using your fingernail. A button is located underneath the cover on a diagonal, near the body's edge. Slide it down and then to the right. The cover will be released and slide off, revealing the manual blade! If you're still unable to locate the button, search the newly exposed manual key access area to see whether there's a hidden slot or lever.

Closing the Windows
Volvo key fobs have a hidden feature that allows users to instantly lower all the windows. This is very useful when you are trying to squeeze into parking spaces that are tight or just want to breathe fresh air while driving.
Press and hold the unlock button on your Volvo remote control for four seconds. This will lower all the windows, and also the sunroof in case your car has one. Once you're done with the vehicle, you can close all the windows by pressing the lock key again for four seconds.
You can also activate the panic alarm in your car with the key fob. It will create an alarm that is loud enough to draw attention to the car and deter thieves. It can also help you get home safely when you've been out all night. This feature is useful for those who live in a dangerous area or you want to ensure the safety of your family when you are away from home.
The opening of the Tailgate
Volvo has loaded its key fobs with a lot of handy features. These are ideal when you're working on groceries or helping your kids to pack their sports gear following practice.
If you own the Hands-Free Liftgate with Logo Projection and Programmable Height (if equipped) then you can open it with the key fob. Simply press the button to open it, then use the same button to close it when you're done.
Use the key fob when you are ready to start the vehicle. (Don't worry if the battery fails or your car doesn't start because it also has an electronic key slot). This is just one of many useful trick for your new Volvo.

The Alarm is turned off
Modern key fobs are much more efficient than a traditional car key. They don't always work perfectly and batteries may fail. You can try to program your key fob at home in case you are in a rush or don't have the time to visit the store.
Choose a clean, flat surface and lay out your key fob, battery, and any other keys. Set the key fob with the Volvo logo facing up and then find a small black button on the left side of the fob. Slide it down and to the right. The cover should loosen and fall off and reveal the mechanical key blade beneath it.
The button to unlock the key fob twice quickly, and you will be able to unlock all the doors, as well as the tailgate. The lock button also shuts the sunroof and windows (if equipped) by pressing it for 2 seconds. Connect the battery, and the alarm should cease. If it doesn't, the owner's manual should have a way to reset the alarm.
