Twilight Princess Isn't As Tough As You Think Twilight Princess Game Review

The darkest and most serious of the Nintendo 3D Zelda games, Twilight Princess pushes the limits of graphics to the maximum limits on the Wii's hardware. It's more tense and ambiguous than The Wind Waker, with no bug-eyed pig guards or effeminate pirates.

Link is drawn to a different dimension known as Twilight Realm where he takes on the form of both the form of a Hylian Wolf and a Hylian while being guided Midna.

Gameplay

The thirteenth and final installment of The Legend of Zelda is Twilight Princess. It was released for the Nintendo GameCube and Wii systems in 2006. The game was highly acclaimed by critics, receiving perfect scores from several publications including 1UP, CVG, EGM and GamesRadar. Many consider it to be the most enjoyable game in the series and also the most well-known Zelda game on the PAL market.

Twilight Princess has a naturalistic, stylized graphic style that is reminiscent of Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time, but with a more sophisticated graphic engine. Twilight princess is the first game in the series with a completely directional control scheme instead of a fixed viewpoint like the previous games. This modification was made to work with the Wii console, which comes with an interface that is based on pointing. The GameCube version of the game comes with an area in the back that contains mirror-image maps for players who prefer the traditional fixed view.

Link transforms into a wolf when he enters the Twilight Realm. He also encounters Midna, a mysterious creature. She informs Link that the kingdom of Hyrule is now under the control of a group of shadow beasts led the evil sorcerer Zant. She also reveals that she is the true ruler of Twili but was usurped by Zant and cursed to her current form.

A short cutscene shows the soldiers being killed by the shadow beasts when Link and Midna reach Hyrule Castle. Then, Link and Midna escape from the castle by a tunnel and enter the Twilight Realm.

In the Twilight Realm, Link can use his wolf form to move more freely in the world. Link can also use his senses to navigate the world. He can sense ghosts of soldiers and animals in the distance. Link can also pull grass from certain patches and whistle with it to call an animal, like a Hawk or Epona. Or, Link can howl near these patches to summon the same animal.

Twilight Princess is no different from other Zelda games in that music plays a significant role. Link can use instruments like the flute or harp to attract and summon various animals. He can also command the form of a wolf by speaking. He can also use his compass to guide him to help him navigate through the world.

Characters

The Legend of Zelda series is full of colorful characters that leave a lasting impression on players. These quirky and creative personalities that emerge from the toilets to pirates sailing across vast oceans, are the heart of the game. Twilight Princess continues the tradition of previous games by introducing a wide range of memorable characters.

Link is introduced to new NPCs throughout the story who are not only interesting but also plausible. It's a major step in the right direction that many of these NPCs actually play a part in the story rather than just being a victim. NPCs like Rusl who states that the forest is dangerous and kidnaps children or the Ordon villager who disguises himself as a wolf to hide his identity when the kids are kidnapped each has their own unique personality.

Other notable characters include Iza, who operates the Boat Rental Cabin as well as Iza's Rapid Ride in the Lanayru Province, Louise, Telma's cat, who assists Wolf Link locate a secret passageway in her bar and sewer system into the castle, and Faron, whose spirit guides Link and Midna to the Forest Temple in the Eldin Province. The duo defeats Diababa's Fused Shadow and obtains the first Tear of Light.

Midna the princess of the Twilight Realm, is also one of the most fascinating characters in the game. She can switch between her human and wolf forms and has a piece of the Triforce of Wisdom. She tells Link about her experience at the twilight and how she defeated Zant the King of Twilight.

Zant, who possesses the other half of the Triforce of Wisdom, is a wicked sorcerer, ruler of the Twilight Realm. He was banished to the Twilight Realm by the goddesses for stealing their land and depriving the people. Zant's magic enables him to remain in wolf form, however Midna dispells the power and allows him to change into his human form when needed.

The game also has an upgraded horse named Epona that can be mounted in Hylian and wolf forms. Link can whistle near certain patches of grass to call the animal (similar to Majora's Mask). Twilight Princess is the first game in the series in which the player can identify their horse.

Theme

Music is among the most crucial elements of any Zelda game and it can make a place feel vast, epic, and engrossing. However, Twilight Princess is criticized for its inconsistent and sporadic soundtrack that doesn't convey the emotional impact of certain scenes. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask and other games have stunning compositions that explode at the right moment to create a feeling of majestic and eerie.

Twilight Princess was composed by Asuka Ohta and Toru Minegishi. Koji Kondo, the series' composer for the first time since Wind Waker, was in charge of overseeing the composers. The soundtrack for Twilight Princess is a bold departure from the traditional approach to the series, with a minimalist approach to music and arrangement. The majority of dungeon and field themes start with a single instrument, creating a hypnotic and eerie atmosphere for the player. Midna's Lament, for instance is a song that uses a keyboard to create a sense of sadness in the player.

The most well-known examples are dungeon themes, with a dull atmosphere. This is particularly evident in Twilight Realm, which has an eerie soundscape that is reminiscent of scenes in an original David Lynch movie. The dark and unsettling quality of the track is enhanced by the absence of identifiable melodies and traditional arrangement, with dreary drones and peculiar patterns intertwining to create a dark, gloomy texture.

A more joyful and uplifting song is Link's hometown, "Faron Woods." This song uses a variety soft sounds and strings to create a peaceful and safe feeling for the player. The song also contains subtle references to the franchise's most famous scene, since it has a riff that is very like the iconic tune that is played at the beginning of Ocarina of Time.

There are also some exciting songs in Twilight Princess that change depending on where the player is in the game, what they're doing, and the events that are taking place. For example the Hyrule Castle Town theme has distinct versions for each area of the town, with Central Square having a more lively and full version of the tune. These variations are a nice addition that can help to create an element of depth and immersion into the world of Hyrule.

Story

The story of Twilight Princess revolves around Link trying to prevent Hyrule from being engulfed by the corrupted parallel dimension referred to as the Twilight Realm. To do this, he adopts the form of both a Hylian and a Wolf and is being assisted by a woman called Midna.

Midna was the original ruler of Twili but she was overthrown and cursed by Zant to transform into her imp form. Link and Midna are informed by the Sages of the Old Testament that only defeating Ganondorf will be capable of releasing them from their curse. The Sages reveal that the Mirror of Twilight causes the darkness to dwell in the Twilight Realm. Midna and Link travel to the Spirit's Spring, where they encounter monsters that are hostile and kidnap children. With Wolf Link's acute sense of smell, they trace the scent of children to a bridge, and then cross into the Twilight Realm.

They enter the Forest Temple, battle Diababa and get the first Fused Shadow. Faron informs them of their next destination, which is the Eldin Province in the west (Wii), or the east (GCN).

Midna, at the Lakebed Temple of Lanayru teleports Link to a fiery stone and unleashes her power on the ice beneath Lake Hylia. The spirit of the recently deceased Zora Queen, Rutela, then appears and tells Link that he has to visit the Lakebed Temple in order to access a treasure of the Zora.

Returning from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, the horse Epona can again be riding in Twilight Princess. slot demo princess can select the name of the horse, a change from the predetermined names in the previous games.

When they arrive in the Twilight Realm, Midna and Link recover the remaining Mirror Shards. The Sages inform Midna that she is the real ruler of the Twili. She was passed by the monarchy and had turned to the god of power. The Sages tell them that they can only defeat Ganondorf when they bring Ganondorf to the light and break the pact made between the Twilight kingdom and Hyrule kingdom.
