5 People You Should Be Getting To Know In The Robot Vacuum Mop Pet Hair Industry
The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
For pets that shed fur A robot vacuum/mop set-up is one of the best floor cleaning solutions. This machine can mop, vacuum and clean its own dual mop pad.
It also has 8,000Pa suction, which is the most of any robot that we've evaluated. It also allows you to create cleaning schedules and save your house's maps from its app.
1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is the latest in Ecovacs line of hybrid robot vacuum-mop robots. This model is dry and wet. It is equipped with the latest AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which gives enhanced mapping and obstruction-free operation. The system uses dual-laser LiDAR which is similar to what you'd find in self-driving cars -- and can scan an area of up to 32 feet wide by 270 degrees. This results in more precise mapping, faster response time, and better cleaning accuracy.
It also comes with a rotating mopping mat made of chenille, making it easier to scrub hard-to-clean areas than traditional mops. During my tests the X2 Omni washed its pad in just a few seconds and then got to work. I noticed that it was more precise than other models, which seemed to follow a grid around rooms. It was adept at navigating my rooms' corners and edges, as well as create an "Zambani pattern" that ran up and down the center of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station frequently to empty the dust bin and clean the mop using hot water prior to starting another clean-up job.
Like other Ecovacs products, the X2 Omni is easy to set up and start using. Place the dock in its place then plug it in and connect it to your WiFi network at home. It takes only about a minute. After that, you can launch the app and begin with your first cleaning task. I was able to dig into the settings and customize my floor plan within about 15 minutes, which included creating restricted areas to sweep and mop, reworking my wall-mounted furniture placements, and more. The X2 Omni performed admirably in my tests. It scored highly in the areas of pet hair removal as well as debris removal. It also was near-perfect in its results for edge and crevices cleaning.
2. Deebot T10 Omni
The ECOVACS T10 Omni is an extremely powerful mopping and vacuum cleaner. It is the most advanced of the T-line of the brand and comes with a new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system that uses dual-spinning brushes for superior cleaning over traditional oscillating scrubbers. It also comes with YIKO built-in, a first-of-its-kind natural language processing tech that allows it to respond to a wide range of voice commands. The ECOVACS App allows you to design your home, create cleaning schedules and modify settings.
The T10 Omni's biggest flaw is that it can't switch between mopping and vacuuming in one run. The two modes require you attach and remove mop heads according to the need, which is fine for most homes, but not a good fit for people who lead busy lives.
The Deebot T10 Omni is a fantastic robot vacuum that has impressive results in our tests on pet hair.
robotvacuummops was able to remove more than 96% of the debris from our hardwood flooring. This is a remarkable performance. It did an excellent job on carpets and tiles, removing 99percent of dirt.
This robot vacuum and mop has a large docking system that allows for automatic cleaning with cool mop pads. It also has an auto-emptying 3L bag which is easy to replace and hot air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also comes with a large tank of water that allows it to be rinsed and dried more often between mopping sessions.
The Deebot T10 comes with a wash tray built into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It makes use of the wash tray to wash and dry the mop pads while it is using them. However, it doesn't have a removable tray, meaning that dirty water dust, dirt and other grime build up on the bottom of the tray over time.
3. RoboVac X8 hybrid
While Anker-owned Eufy is well known in the world of robot vacuums, this model is its first venture into the world of mopping. It has enhanced intelligence and support for multiple maps, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that adjusts automatically to the surface you are cleaning. It's a mid-range cleaner that's attractive, even if its claim of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning doesn't quite make sense.
The X8 Hybrid appears to be a standard robotic cleaner from the top. It has a circular form, sweeper wheels and a raised sensor area. On the other hand you'll find a motorized floorbrush and one side brush that pushes dust from the edges to the main path of its' mouth.' It's smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under couches and chairs.
The mapping system is quite sophisticated, allowing you to set no-mop zones, as well as specific cleaning zones. It has a tendency of bumping into things like its charging station, and isn't great in climbing over carpets. It did a good job of picking up pet hair on bare floors However, in our tests it was able to pick up 89.5 percent of cat litter, which puts it ahead of all but the strongest robots we've examined.
Although it can be controlled via the app it's also controllable via the app. X8 Hybrid also comes with a series of physical buttons on its base, which let you select a cleaning mode and turn the robot on/off. You can also use them to set no-go zones and see maps in real-time. It's a bit chatty, too, and will let you know what it's planning to do next ("start cleaning") or even warn you that something's not right (it doesn't have enough power to charge, for instance).
4. ILIFE A4s
This model is high-tech and sucks up pet hair, kibble, and other debris with top-notch performance and is able to effortlessly maneuver around furniture legs. It has a feature set that is impressive, such as two cleaning modes and an automatic docking station, and real-time obstacle avoidance technology. The Wi-Fi enabled device is operated via the Neato App, where cleanings are scheduled and maintenance requirements are monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent choice for homes that have a carpet, hard carpet and floors, but it requires some advance planning to avoid getting stuck by electrical cords, toys, or other unexpected obstacles.
This robot did well during our tests on hardwood floors and kibble. It was able to pick up everything, from one rice grain to multiple pet food pieces in just one pass. It had some difficulty transitioning to carpets, but in general this vacuum cleaner is perfect for large spaces with different flooring types and a mix of pets.

It is a bit pricey but if you're able to manage the price, this is a great option for those who want to leave their home hands-free to go about other tasks or take care of chores. The A4s Pro also offers a convenient auto cleaning mode that increases suction power to deal with tough spills and dirt and it comes with batteries that power the ElectroWall that lets you define boundaries where the robot isn't permitted to access.
This budget-friendly choice from a well-known upstart brand is the most affordable robot we've tested to date and offers an outstanding value for money. Its basic navigation system is based on a basic random pathing algorithm, and it's not equipped to map rooms. This renders it less efficient than the other models on this list. However it's still able to get under furniture and into corners, and its mopping mode was very effective during our tests it picked up pet hair and other debris with ease.
5. Shark iQ
Shark's iQ isn't quite as well-built as the Roomba S9, but it does a better job overall in getting rid of pet hair on all surfaces. It gets rid of floors with less thoroughly and does a good job on carpets with low pile, and it makes use of smart-pathing navigational technology for better maneuverability. It can be sent to a specific location, and includes a variety of advanced automation options, including no-go zones and schedules. It even lets you to pause and resume cleaning sessions, so it's perfect for homes with pets.
Its self-cleaning brushroll prevents knots from pet hair and other debris, and its self-emptying bagless docking station can hold up to 30 days of dirt before it needs to be empty. It comes with of side brushes that are angled to reach into corners, as well as a multi-stage filter system that collects dust, dander and allergens.
This robot vacuum feels solid and well-built, and it comes with an app for smartphones that lets you change the settings for your vacuum and plan cleaning sessions ahead of time. The app also allows you to view the remaining battery life and receive push notifications about any issues it encounters during its cleaning cycle. You can control it with your voice using an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't own either of these devices, you can mark areas by using physical boundary markers.
The iQ excels in cleaning floors with no dirt, and is able to do well on carpets with low pile and shaggy edges. However it doesn't provide the same level of autonomy as our top choices. It's also costly and its ongoing costs can become expensive over time.
