Use a fingernail to remove the cover on the back of the key fob. A button should be located under the cover at an angle near the body's edge. Slide it to the right. The cover will fall free and slide away leaving the manual key blade! If you're unable to locate the button, take a look around the newly revealed manual key access for the lever or slot that is hidden.
Close the Windows
One of the features that is hidden that is not visible on Volvo key fobs is that they allow you to close all windows at once with the fobs. This is very useful when trying to squeeze into parking spaces that are tight or just want to breathe fresh air while driving.
To do this simply press and hold the unlock button on your Volvo remote for four seconds. This will lower all the windows, and the sunroof if it comes with one. Then, when you're finished with the car, you can close everything by pressing the lock button once more for four seconds.
You can also activate the panic alarm in your car with the key fob. This will sound an intense, enthralling roar that can scare off thieves and allow you to return home at a safe distance after a night out. This feature is useful if you are living in a hazardous area or want to protect your family while they are away.
The opening of the Tailgate
Volvo's key fob comes with many useful features. They are great when you're busy with grocery shopping or helping your kids load up their sports equipment after practice.
If you have the Hands Free Liftgate with Logo Projection and Programmable Height (if equipped) Then you can open it with the key fob. It is possible to open the liftgate by pressing the button and then close it by pressing the same button.

Turning off the Alarm

Find a clean work surface and lay out your key fob, battery and other keys. Locate the small black button in the bottom left corner on the key fob, and move it to the right. The cover will fall off, revealing the key blade that is mechanical beneath.
Press the button to unlock the key fob twice quickly, and you will be able opening all doors and the tailgate. By pressing the lock button for two seconds, you can close the windows and the sunroof in the event that they're equipped. Reconnect the battery, and the alarm will stop. If it does not then the owner's manual should include a reset method.
