World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as crit chance and PvE damage.
For instance an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level rises.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons, and trinkets to give an extra stat boost or impact while they're being used. They can be acquired through crafting, buying from vendors trading or looting. Some upgrades also have specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to blue before a component can be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific type of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the items that are not ascending back. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade could be prefixed or a suffix changing the name of the equipment to which it is used (for examplefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players make stronger versions of the equipment that require less Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.
A boost upgrade is a way to alter the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be made at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals.
Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher tier version of the item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even in the event that they don't know how much it will be improved following a reset.
If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a substantial possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break when it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate chance of failure, and a few upgrades that give an additional benefit when they are inserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to enhance the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs buff the effectiveness of all nodes in the area around them as well as existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we suggest getting them up to level 15 whenever you can.
You will often find in the final game that placing Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes faster.
Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without any restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a specific range of values that it can improve a stat by. The value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.
You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs, and there are some rare Glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be put on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that boosts the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.
Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, therefore it is recommended to place Glyphs in the most important locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For example an Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, however, you may also want to consider placing them near critical damage nodes, too.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to increase the effectiveness of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is also known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to be reached and the costs for upgrading increase as the item is advanced in level.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or purchased from some NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When a player upgrades the equipment they have it will be replaced with the new item. The same armor can be transformed into a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own bonus. This could be a drawback because it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't need it.
If the player has enough tokens they can roll
item upgrades . The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a level 1 basis and totally different bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it shouldn't be performed frequently, since it can waste lots of resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled several times, increasing their value and allowing the player to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants a buff if the player is repeatedly in or exits water. This can be upgraded several times, each time raising the max roll by 10 points. This item is very important in PvP. A properly rolled version can be worth up to 50x the value of its non-upgraded version.
Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by presenting the appropriate items and currency to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
All items are upgradeable up to five times except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to return to its original state which means that the player has to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any bonus it earned, including crit chance and attack damage, and all additional effects associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or speed of reload). However, the player can continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon receives a crit chance boost, the increase will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the definition of the item and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its value. For example, a common item might have five upgrades for a price of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading as compared to standard equipment, for instance, they may require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Whatever the case, players will need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade requires the use of different ingredients needed to upgrade.
