The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the most recent in the Ecovacs line of robot vacuum mop hybrids. This model is equipped with the company's upgraded AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system, which offers improved mapping and obstacle avoidance. The system uses dual laser LiDAR, similar to the one used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan that is up to 32 feet by the 270-degree angle. This results in more precise mapping, quicker response times, and better cleaning accuracy.


It also comes with a rotating mopping mat made of chenille, making it much easier to scrub hard-to-clean areas than traditional mopping. During my tests it was able to clean the X2 Omni washed its pad in less than a second and got to work. I noticed that it was more accurate than other models, which seemed to follow the grid of rooms. It was able to navigate my rooms by the corners and edges and also create a "Zambani pattern" that ran up and down the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station frequently to empty the dust bin and clean the mop with hot water prior to starting another cleaning job.

The X2 Omni is just as easy to use and set up as the other Ecovacs products. Place the dock in its place then plug it in and pair it with your WiFi network at home. It takes just about a minute. You can then launch the app to begin your first cleaning task. I was able to customize my floor plan in about 15 minutes. This included creating limited areas for mopping and sweeping and rearranging the layout of wall-mounted furniture and more. The X2 Omni was impressive in my tests. It scored well in the areas of pet hair removal and debris removal, and had near-perfect results for crevices and edge cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

If you're looking for a strong combination of vacuuming and mopping, check out the EcoVACS Deebot Omni. It is the most advanced of the T-line offered by the company and comes with the new OZMO Turbo2.0 mopping system that utilizes a dual-spinning brush for superior cleaning than traditional scrubbing. It has YIKO, an artificial language processing technology that is a first of its kind. This allows it to respond to various voice commands. You can make use of the ECOVACS app to map your home, create cleaning schedules and adjust settings.

The biggest issue with the T10 Omni is that it's unable to switch from mopping and vacuuming in a single operation. The T10 Omni has two modes that require you to attach and remove mop heads according to your needs. This is fine for most households, but not for people who have a busy schedule.

It's a mid-range robot cleaner that's attractive, even if its claim of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning doesn't be realized.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a standard robotic vacuum cleaner from the top with its circular design with sweeping wheels and an elevated area for sensors. On the other side, you'll see a motorised floorbrush and one side brush that moves dust from the edges into the main path of its' mouth.' It's a bit smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9, which I found makes it easier to access under couches and chairs.

Its mapping system is fairly sophisticated, allowing you to set no-mop zones, as well as specific cleaning zones. However robot vacuum for dog hair tends to get into things (including its own charging dock) and isn't the best at climbing over rugs. It was great at getting pet hair off of the floor. In our tests it picked up 89.5 percent of cat litter.

In our tests of hardwood floors and kibble the robot performed very well and was able to pick up everything from a single grain of rice to multiple pieces of dog food in one go. It did have some issues with rugs, but generally speaking the vacuum cleaner is ideal for rooms with floors of different types as well as a mix of pets.

It is a bit pricey however, if you are able to handle the cost this is a great option for those who wish to leave their home hands-free to go about other tasks or take care of chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning mode that boosts suction to tackle difficult dirt or spills. It also has a battery-powered ElectroWall to set boundaries for the robot.

This budget-friendly model from a well-known brand is the most affordable robot we've ever tested and provides an outstanding value for price. Its basic navigation system uses an extremely basic random pathing algorithm, but it doesn't have room mapping capabilities, which makes it less time efficient than other models on this list. However it's still able navigate under furniture and into corners and its mopping feature was very effective in our testing, picking up stray pet hair and other debris easily.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ may not be as durable however it is superior at cleaning pet hair from all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning carpets with low piles and floor surfaces that are bare. It also makes use of the smart-pathing software for better mobility. It can be sent to a specific area, and includes a variety of advanced automation features, including no-go zones and schedules. It also lets you pause and resume a cleaning session which is ideal for homes with pets.
