5 Best Robot Vacuum For Pet Hair And Mop Projects For Any Budget
Best Robot Vacuum For Pet Hair and Debris
If you have pets, a robotic vacuum that can pick up pet hair and other debris on any floor is essential. Consider features such as reactive obstacle avoidance and app control.
Fur is shed by dogs and cats, which can be spread on hard floors or incorporated into carpets. This can be a difficult task for robots to perform.
1. Neato D9
The Neato D9 robot cleaner is one of the most sophisticated on the market. It comes with an onboard camera that maps the area and then vacuums up and down in a systematic way until it has cleaned every inch of your floor. This makes it easy to clean even hard-to-reach places such as under furniture or over the stairs. It also does a fantastic job of cleaning up pet hair and dust.
The D9 has a huge coverage area and can clean up to 1,600 square feet of space on one charge, which makes it ideal for medium-sized homes. It has a high-end matte black finish that looks fantastic in any house. The D9 isn’t as powerful as the other robotic vacuums we test, but it does still pick up a good amount of dirt and debris. The helix multi-surface brush on it is up to 70% larger than the brushes used on a lot of round robotic vacuums, making it more effective in cleaning up particles and other debris.
Another aspect that sets the D9 apart from other robot vacuums is its SmartLiDAR navigation system. It uses the same technology used by self-driving vehicles to map and navigate through your home. This enables the D9 to clean faster than robots that employ cameras because it can see more of your home and avoid obstacles in low light.
You can use the app to draw virtual boundaries around certain areas of your home that you don't want the D9 to clean. The D9 will either stay clear of these zones or vacuum more often. It can also spot pet messes on floors and clean them.
The D9 can clean your grout. This is especially beneficial for homes with tiled or vinyl flooring. It's not as efficient as other robot vacuums when it comes to getting rid of pet hair from carpeted floors, but it does a great job.
The D9 was able to remain in the same place for more than three-hours, which was more than any other robot vacuum I've tried. However, it did have to return to the charging base once its battery had reached 15 percent.
2. Eufy RoboVac 11S
The Eufy RoboVac 11S robot vacuum is a great option if you are on a budget and want to keep your floors clean. It's also one of the most affordable robot vacuums you can find currently, much less than the earlier Eufy models or some machines that are made by lesser-known brands. The 11S is small, attractive, easy-to-use, and has an adequate dust compartment.
It has the same basic form factor as the eufy30C we looked at last year, but it's slimmer and has slightly better suction power (2 kPa instead of 1.7). Contrary to the more expensive Roomba models, the 11S doesn't have an integrated robot mop or advanced navigation capabilities. It runs an app for smartphones and a remote to allow you to manually direct it.
You can program the 11S to clean specific rooms or the entire home. The 11S also comes with an option for spot-cleaning that lets you select an area to vacuum for two minutes. Edge cleaning is another useful feature that lets you concentrate on the edges of your room.
The 11S is easy to maintain because it has an enormous dirt compartment that doesn't require frequent emptying and the battery longevity is excellent. It does have a tendency to fall off its charging dock when it's full, which is why you'll need to connect the wires to the dock using zip ties. The lack of a 'dust box full' indicator means you'll need to check the dust bin regularly, but it doesn't take long.
Comparatively to the eufy 30-C In comparison to the eufy 30C, the 11S is better-built, incurs lower costs for recurring repairs and has a larger dirt compartment, and is able to clear more debris from everything from plain floors to low-pile carpet. It is also simpler to maintain and performs better, especially when cleaning carpets. Its BoostIQ feature automatically switches between Standard power and Max power settings based on the surface that you are cleaning. Anti-collision sensors keep the 11S from bumping into furniture, and it's able to automatically return to its base when the battery is low. It took around an hour for it to fully charge and it has a long time of use.
iRobot Roomba j7+
iRobot j7 is the smartest robot mop and vacuum combination available. PrecisionVision navigation allows it to navigate around obstacles and avoid blind spots where other robotic vacuums may get stuck. It also learns about your home and then uses that information to improve cleaning performance over time. It can be controlled via the iRobot App and integrates with Alexa or Google Assistant.

We used the J7+ Combo to work on our obstacle course and discovered it to be one of the most reliable robots to clean both floors that are unfinished as well as carpets with low pile. Its maneuverability is excellent and it cleans in a neat pattern, returning to its docking station when completed. Its hazard-detection function is efficient in avoiding objects such as cords. However, it can get stuck on rug tassels or struggle to climb up high-pile carpets.
The iRobot J7+ comes with self-emptying dust bin, which dumps its contents into the charging dock when it is full. This eliminates the necessity for manual maintenance. The j7+'s mopping capabilities are also well-rounded, sweeping up pet hair and spills on hard and soft surfaces. The dual rubber brush bars are pliable and can handle most messy mess. They also keep you from getting tangled in hair, whether human or animal.
The iRobot J7+ is quiet and registers only 64 decibels on our decibel meter while it cleans. The j7+ cleans quietly, with a decibel level of no more than 64db. This is in line with the noise level of an ordinary conversation, and significantly less than what we've heard from other robots.
The j7+ isn't a good choice for floors that are bare or fabrics with low pile, but it is a good option for most homes. Its ability to keep pets away from waste and other common obstacles makes it a good option for people who have cats or dogs and its clever navigation capabilities make it easy to set up and use.
4. Deebot X2 Omni
Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni is a complete robot mop and vacuum that is sleek, low-profile and powerful cleaning power. It also has intelligent navigation. It's the first robotic mop and vacuum with dual-laser LiDAR technology built into the body. This will allow for faster mapping and more accurate cleaning. The X2 comes with AIVI 3D 2.0 and TrueMapping 3.0 and advanced dynamic obstacle avoidance. This provides a complete solution for cleaning your home across all floors. The X2 has an AI that is pet-friendly and identifies the pets in your household. This allows it to tailor its cleaning according to your household needs.
robotvacuummops with a square shape and integrated edge detection sensors allows it to reach up to walls and corners. It is also able to clean floors and carpets simultaneously, but unlike other robots that clean their pads using hot water after every use, the X2's rotating pads are soaked in the base with 131°F water. It then allows drying of the pads in between uses, extending the life of the pads.
Like other modern robots, the X2 can be controlled via a free app that allows you to create and schedule cleaning runs. The app is easy to use and user-friendly however it is lacking certain features that are more advanced than some of its competitors. For instance, although the X2 is intelligent enough to clean in a grid pattern, our tests revealed that it typically cleaned in more haphazard patterns and sometimes did not pick up a heap of coarse dirt or dust that was easily visible.
The X2 is easy to keep up with and will return to its base to empty the dust bin into a removable dust bag and then to automatically wash and dry its mop pad inside the docking station. It's also capable of being able to recognize its charging station and going back to it to charge, allowing you to keep your home with new cleaning power for a period of weeks. Its biggest drawback is its size that makes it difficult to locate the right place to charge.
