Are Three Wheeled Buggies The Best There Ever Was?
Three Wheeled Buggies

Three-wheeled buggies are great for walking around the neighborhood or running. Their compact design makes them easy to maneuver even in tight spots.
If you want a smooth ride on your baby, opt for models with 360deg front wheels with swivel. However, they are susceptible to punctures, so be prepared with an repair kit.
Frame made of sturdy material
New data show that three-wheeled buggies, that symbol of the decade that were more expensive than common sense, are in a steep decline. They have been replaced by four-wheelers which can handle a wider variety of terrain, while still looking swanky and being easy to push.
The larger the wheels are the better your buggy will cope with bumpy and uneven pavements. The larger wheels both rear and front, make it easier to maneuver and more stable when walking downhill or in difficult terrain.
MFM reviewer Kath tried this buggy on the newborn baby and a 3-year-old child and found it to be extremely sturdy. It handled cobbles, grass, and rough pavements as well as dirt tracks and kerbs.
3 wheel pushchair said "it is sturdy to push and very solid when traversing difficult terrain. Its tyres (which are inflatable and require periodic pumping) offer built-in suspension that was very comfortable for my children.
The shape and size of the seat is a further factor to think about. The seat should be large enough for your child to be comfortable and allow them to lie down. Some three-wheel buggies offer a full lie-flat option while others only allow for the parent to be facing one.
A great option for those who want to tackle off-road and muddy trails is the Roma Atlas. This buggy can be used as a single unit from birth and then adapts to take two children when your family expands. It is suitable for toddlers and infants from birth to age 4, and comes with a bumper, raincover, an improved 5-point harness, and a huge padded seat. The storage options are good as well, with a decent-sized basket, zip pockets inside the hood and an attractive pouch at the rear of the seat unit.
Larger wheels
Larger wheels will give your buggy greater stability when driving on rough terrain. This is especially beneficial for buggies designed for off-road use. Additionally, they allow you to maneuver the buggy through tight spaces. Certain three-wheeled buggies have wheels that swivel on the front, which aid in maneuvering around tight corners. Others are designed for running and have fixed wheels that lock to provide increased speed and stability. This is also useful if you crash into the kerb or a tree. The front wheel will lift slightly to prevent hitting it.
Many 3 wheeled pushchairs have air-filled tyres which allow them to tackle a broad range of terrains. They are also more flexible than 4 wheelers. They also tend to be lighter. However, they are prone to punctures, so you'll need to have a repair kit, spare inner tube, and pump on hand.
Mountain Buggy Core, Venicci Carbo and the Venicci Carbo lux are some of our favourite 3-wheelers. These buggies, according to MFM's Kath, have larger wheels which, she says "perform well on grass, gravel roads and market town cobbles" and are able to move up and down kerbs. They also have a suspension system which, in her words "smoothes out bumps very effectively".
The downside of having bigger wheels is that they can make some buggies quite broad and make it difficult to get through narrow spaces. This is an issue if you plan to use it as a jogger, or need to fit through doorways that are narrow while on the move. The majority of models come with small folding options that allow you to remove the front wheels and store them in a more compact manner.
Easy to Manoeuvre
A three-wheeler can be easier to maneuver with children. They are designed to ensure that the front wheels be turned on a dime and are easy to move, making them ideal for difficult terrain like cobblestones, parks as well as bumpy roads and dirt tracks.
MFM reviewer Kath tried out a three-wheeler with her toddler and newborn and stated: "The Terrain was a delight to maneuver on the ground and the swivel front wheel particularly useful. I was also amazed by how well it dealt with kerbs using the hand-operated break.
three wheel pushchair found it to be extremely stable when going downhill or over uneven terrain."
The only drawback of this great mobility is that the 3 wheel buggy's bigger wheels sometimes mean that it will struggle in tight spaces - something to consider when you live in a metropolitan region. If this is an issue then a four-wheeled buggy might be the better choice for you.
