Albums
Toto's discography includes 13 studio albums as well as 4 live albums. There are also a few compilations. Toto has released original music and collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards for their work.
Before the formation of Toto the band, members performed session work for other musicians. David Paich, the son of drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggsalbum from 1975 Silk Degrees. The collaboration led to the formation of Toto in the year 1976.
Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics due to not having hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Fredericksen left, and the band held auditions to choose a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the 1986 album Fahrenheit.
Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to mark its 20th anniversary. The group went through old recordings and tapes to create the special record. The album was well-loved by fans and Toto began an extensive tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.
In the course of the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun, drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included recordings from the tour and also an interview with the group.

Toto is an American rock band formed in 1977 in Van Nuys, Greater Los Angeles. The group is made up of Steve Lukather (vocalist/guitarist), David Paich (bassist), Steve Porcaro (keyboardist/vocalist), Jeff Porcaro and Joseph Williams, guitarist/vocalist. The eclectic mix of influences in the group has made it one of the most well-known groups ever. The band's music has been featured in over 200 TV and movie shows, including The Godfather and The Prince of Egypt.
The album Toto IV released in 1983 won them worldwide applause. The band embarked on the world to promote the album after its success. During the tour, lead vocalist Bobby Kimball was arrested on drug charges. The band decided to let him go at the end of the tour and hired guitarist and singer Joseph Williams in his place. David Hungate, the drummer also quit the band after the tour. He was replaced by bassist Leland Sklar.
The TOTO Museum is a futuristic structure with a variety of exhibit rooms devoted to telling the story of the company and its most innovative products. The song "Africa" is from the album Toto IV. The song was written by the band members and was produced by David Paich. It was a huge success in Europe as well as other countries. The success of the single helped Toto to regain their popularity after their previous album Turn Back failed to chart in America.
After the album's release, Toto went on a world tour. The group featured touring musicians Lenny Castro and Shannon Forrest. Warren Ham, Shem von Schröeck, and Shem von Schroeck were also part of the group. In addition, guitarist Steve Lukather released his second solo album, Luke.
In 1985, drummer Fergie Frederiksen left Toto due to personal reasons. The group decided to hold an audition, and eventually chose Joseph Williams to replace Frederiksen.
Prior to and during the time of Toto's formation, its members worked as session musicians for a diverse range of artists. Drummer Jeff Porcaro and bassist David Hungate performed on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs which led to Toto's formation. Paich played keyboards on Steely Dan records, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
In 1998, Toto began working on a project titled Old Is New. The album featured three new tracks as well as a number of completed recordings of older songs. The album was a global success and the band embarked on a tour to promote the album.

Toto, known for the hit song "Africa" The group recently came together to promote their latest album, All In. The album, released on November 6, 2018 featured three new tracks from the upcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun as also completed recordings of four tracks from the past with Jeff Porcaro playing drums and Mike or Steve Porcaro playing bass. The album included the cover version of Weezer's track "Hash Pipe," which they added after hearing it on the radio.
