If your vehicle is fitted with an installed dealer-installed Engine Remote Start accessory, you can also utilize the key fob to activate this feature. The vehicle will then heat or cool to the same temperature it was set at when parked, and it will continue to run for a maximum of 15 minutes.

Remove the cover that covers the back of the key fob using your fingernail. Under the cover, on a diagonal near the body's edge you will find a button. You can remove it by sliding it downwards, then to the right. The cover will break loose, and then slide away to reveal the manual blade! If you're still having trouble finding the button, search around the newly revealed manual key access area to see whether there's a secret slot or lever.

Close the Windows

Volvo key fobs have an option that hides behind them that allows you to immediately roll down all the windows. This is a great feature in situations where you need to squeeze into tight parking spaces or simply want fresh air while driving.

To unlock your Volvo do this, press and hold down the unlock button on your Volvo remote for four seconds. This will lower all the windows, and the sunroof if your vehicle has one. When you're done driving you can shut everything by pressing the lock button a second time for four seconds.

You can also use your key fob to turn on your car's panic alarm. It will sound an alarm that is loud and attention-grabbing which can deter thieves and help you get home safe after a long night out. This feature is helpful when you live in a neighborhood that is prone to crime or want to secure your family while they are away.

The opening of the Tailgate

If you own the Hands-Free Liftgate with Logo Projection and Programmable Height (if equipped) then you can open it with the key fob. You can open the liftgate by pressing the button and then close it by pressing the same button.

Turning off the Alarm

Modern key fobs are more convenient than a mechanical car key. They can't always function perfectly, and the batteries can fail. If you're running out of time or don't want to go to an establishment to get your key fob reset, you can make it work at home.

Lay out your key fobs batteries, keys, and other keys on a clean surface. Place the key fob with the Volvo logo facing up and then locate a tiny black button on the left side of the fob. Slide it downwards and to the right. The cover will fall off, revealing the key blade's mechanical mechanism underneath.

The button to unlock the key fob twice quickly, and you'll be able open all the doors, as well as the tailgate. The lock button will also close the windows and sunroof (if equipped) by pressing it for two seconds. Connect the battery, and the alarm should stop.
