Your Family Will Be Thankful For Getting This Twin Stroller
Best Twin Stroller For Newborns
A double stroller is essential if you're expecting twins or have two children of similar ages. The top double strollers provide multiple ways to ride for your children including side by side seating and a board attachment.
The Bugaboo Donkey 5 Mono is Lauren Ro's top stroller. It adapts to your family's needs seamlessly. It can fit two infant car seats as well as an infant seat, making it a great choice for twins from birth.
Bugaboo Donkey
This is the ideal twin stroller for families that want a stylish double side-by-side stroller. It is a little larger than the other Bugaboo models but it's sturdy and built to last. It has a handlebar that is adjustable that extends and retracts easily. It has a decent reach so that my husband, who is 6'1", can easily push it, even when fully laden.
The seats are large and can be set up to place one child on top of the other, or to have children face each other. They can also recline separately from each other. The canopies cover both fabric seats should you wish to. They don't have much ventilation, so they can be like an oven on hot days. There's no way to see your kids.
One of the most distinctive features of this stroller is its capacity to grow with your family from the single seat (Mono mode) all the way to a double side-by-side stroller. It is the only double stroller convertible that can do this! It can be used in conjunction with the bassinet for infants or a car seat.
It is easy to maneuver on smooth surfaces and is able to handle steps and slopes well. The only issue is that it can be difficult to navigate through the midst of crowded restaurants and shops. It is also difficult to fold, especially when seats are connected. It's still pretty compact, and can be tucked away easily.
There is an additional storage bin that fits on the frame to the front seat in mono mode. This is ideal for shopping and other items. The main storage basket beneath the seats is huge and can accommodate up to 100 pounds which is more than any other stroller on this list!
Uppababy Vista V2
This is one of the best twin strollers designed for new newborns. It is compatible with a range of infant car seats and bassinets (adapters sold separately) and can be used as a double stroller straight out of the box. The Vista Upper and Vista Lower adapters let you use two infant car seats at the same time.
The V2 is a more refined version of the original Vista. The toddler seat is half an inch taller, the footrest has more space and the canopy is equipped with an extender for the fabric that zips out, which gives extra coverage. The harness has also been modernized in that it does not need to be re-threaded. This makes it much easier to adjust.
The stroller comes with large wheels (8" in front and 11.5" in the back) and a robust suspension system, which lets it take on any terrain. The wheels made of rubber on the front are perfect to navigate through rocks and gravel, while the tread on the rear wheels is better for grassy hills or sidewalks.
A child's bicycle can also be attached to the front of the stroller. This is a great choice for parents who do not want to use a car seat. If you have a child who's old enough to stand, the Vista stroller can accommodate an additional child using its piggyback board accessory.
Vista is a simple device to use. Vista is easy to use and set up, however it takes some time to unpack all of the protective packaging. The instructions are simple to follow and there is also a YouTube video should you require further assistance.
Thule Urban Glide 3
The Thule Urban Glide 3 is the most recent version of the popular stroller that is made to appeal to modern families who value style, sustainability and adventure. It comes with exciting upgrades such as a built-in foot rest and a reclined seat, which offers the best comfort for children on long jogging and walks. Its sleek, agile design enhances its maneuverability.
It is incredibly light, making it simple to drive and quick to accelerate on the open road. Its suspension is able to take on sudden changes in the surface (such as pavement to grass) and the oversized tires offer enough traction for any terrain. It can easily climb kerbs without trouble and it turns in tight spaces such as streets in cities with aplomb. Even narrow sidewalks and crowded park are not a problem.
While the new Urban Glide 3 offers superior performance, it also retains the classic Thule qualities that make it the ideal jogger for parents. The oversized canopy provides excellent sun protection, comes with an easy peekaboo feature and a top-quality harness system and an integrated handbrake that is perfectly adjusted. It offers plenty of storage space, including pockets inside the seat and a large cargo bag that can hold up to 15 pounds.
This Thule Jogger comes with a bassinet to accommodate strolling infants, and a double version that can hold two children. It is compatible with car seat adapters so that you can use your child's infant carrier, and it has a quick fold that's one-handed to make it easy to carry or store. It's also available in green that uses dyed solution-dyed fabrics in black color options to minimize the use of water.
Cortina Together
Cortina Together is designed for families that are growing and provides parents with the option of seating to meet the needs and preferences of every child. The two seats in the double stroller feature reclining backrests, and canopies that are separate. The seats are also designed to accept Chicco's KeyFit or KeyFit 30, the #1 baby car seat that is rated the highest in both the rear and front seat. (Car seat sold separately).
A large, zipper-accessible basket in the rear offers ample storage for gear. The handle is cushioned to accommodate mom or dad. The wheels and suspension of the tandem double stroller provide an easy ride across all terrains. The 1-touch linked rear breaks when activated by a toe-tap, making stopping easy.
In our Strollers & Multiples lab tests, Cortina Together scored well for its ease of use. This metric is based upon the ease with which it is to fold and set up the stroller. It also includes how easy it is for you to open and close the snack tray, engage and disengage brakes, raise the stroller that is folded and carry it like the trunk of a car.
There are some downsides to this model, however. First, it's heavy. It weighs 36.6 pounds when fully loaded which puts it close to the top of our metrics. It also has a limited view when a car seat is placed in the rear. Lastly, the front tray release is sometimes difficult to operate, particularly after prolonged use. Despite these issues we still consider this to be a great stroller for your family.
Jeep Double Stroller
The Jeep Destination Ultralight Side x Side Double Stroller is an affordable, lightweight stroller ideal for families with two kids. Its front swivel lock wheels rotate for ease of maneuvering on flat surfaces, and lock to provide stability on bumpy surfaces. It also has a compact umbrella fold that closes in a matter of seconds and can be set up for easy transport. Its aluminum frame is light, foam handles and strap for carrying make it one of the easiest-to-lift double strollers we tested.
This side-by-side stroller offers seating that reclines independently and foot rests to provide maximum comfort for both children. Its large canopy offers UPF 50 protection, and comes with a peekaboo view to make it easy for monitoring. We'd like to see the canopy vented to let in more airflow however. We also didn't love that the cup holder sits quite high on the frame, which means you'll have to bend down to access it.
In our tipping-test it was found that the Jeep tipped over at a 39-degree angle, which is more than the norm for the double pram. It's heavier than the average, but offers more storage for the price.
double buggy and seats are also well-padded.
The stroller is multi-functional and has three modes. It can be used as a wagon (for stuff) as well as a the jogger mode (with two safety belts with five points for children), or car seat mode. It can accommodate a single car seat for an infant. However, pediatricians suggest that you wait until your child is six months old before allowing them to jog with them. It is available in black and comes with a limited warranty.
