Why Irobot Vacuum Is Still Relevant In 2023 iRobot Vacuum and Mop Review

Unlike some robot vacuums, this one isn't afraid to take on the stairs. However, like any mop and vacuum, it can get clogged by debris such as loose tennis shoes or ribbons and yarn, play jewelry or other stray objects.

The iRobot Home App allows you to label rooms, and even create zones that are not allowed to enter. You can also track the progress of your mops and their battery levels.

iRobot Combo j7+

The Combo j7+ is a robot vacuum and mop that combines the smart mapping capabilities of iRobot with its ability to deal with spills. It uses the same onboard acoustic sensors and iAdapt 2.0 navigation that are used in other Roomba options and maps your home seven times faster than previous models. It also lets you create Keep out Zones (for rooms that the robot should avoid) and Clean Zones (for rooms it must clean).

The robotic arm is the main feature of the j7. It keeps the mop pad hidden when not in use and lowers it for carpeting or hard flooring. The idea is to not spray water onto the rug and the Combo J7+ has done well at this during my tests. The robot stopped when it encountered an area rug and did not attempt to go over it, even though I moved the rug around several times.

The arm is equipped with a 240mL tank which is easy to remove and refilled. This makes it easier to use than the mop pads found on many other 2-in-1 robotic arms. It also uses the iRobot's PrevisionVision technology to avoid obstacles, which is more advanced than some systems of this type.
