Keyless Entry System

Keyless entry systems are a reliable method to secure your rental property without the need for physical keys. These systems allow guests as well as tenants to access the property through a code or their smartphones. They can also be integrated with intercoms to offer video and audio communication and provide different ways for people to enter the building. Some keyless entry systems use cloud-based technology that allows them to be managed remotely. They also provide more advanced features.

A keyless entry system can be installed in any residential or commercial property. First, the hardware has to be installed at each entryway. The system needs to be controlled and configured via central consoles, or an app for smartphones. The keyless entry systems market is expected to expand at an annual rate of 11.8 percent between 2016 and 2022 according to Technavio. The market's growth is due to the rising demand for security systems in commercial vehicles.

Many people are scared of being locked out of their home, so they keep a spare key in a safe place. This poses a major security risk since criminals know where people keep their spare keys and will easily find the keys. To avoid this happening, it's best to install an entry system that is keyless at your residence. This will ensure that you aren't ever being locked out of your home.

Transponder Chip

The transponder or "chip key", is a micro-chip that is embedded in the head portion of your car keys. It's among the most important security layers for your vehicle. The word transponder is derived from the combination of transmitter and responder which is because, when the key is inserted into the ignition and turned on, the antenna ring of your car transmits a flash of radio frequency energy to the transponder chip. The chip responds by sending its unique identification code back to the antenna ring. The car's computer then analyzes this data and determines whether it is a valid or not.

If the key isn't a transponder, the vehicle will be locked. The chip is protected with a special layer of polycarbonate that blocks it from being copied or duplicated using regular mechanical keys. Beishir Lock and Security carries an extensive selection of transponder keys at much less cost than of car dealerships.

Transponder chips started to become popular in the 80's when GM introduced them into the Corvette. This technology dramatically decreased vehicle thefts as it made hot-wiring a thing of past. This is the most basic explanation of the chip key. If you have more questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

Immobiliser System

The engine immobiliser system (also called the anti-theft) is an essential element of your vehicle's security. When you insert your key into the ignition switch or Smart Key fob, the transponder chip inside it sends a code to the vehicle's Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The ECU verifies that the code sent by the chip is identical to the one stored in it and then only allows the engine to start.

This is the primary method the immobiliser in your car prevents theft. If the chip's code is not in sync, the ECU will block the flow of current from the fuel pump relay to the injection system, and stop the engine from getting started. In addition the immobiliser may disable the starter motor as well as the ignition coil, preventing the engine from starting by force.

Unfortunately the system isn't 100% secure. Criminals can break the code used to unlock your car's immobiliser system and allow it to start. However, the most recent versions of these systems come with a an extended cryptographic sequence which should be harder to figure out.

Immobilisers for cars are mandatory from 1998, but a lot of cars had rudimentary immobiliser systems fitted before that. It's important to note that even though an immobiliser makes it more difficult to steal a car it doesn't stop thieves from towing it away or breaking into the car in order to steal your valuables.

Key Replacement

The loss of a remote or key fob can be expensive and can be a hassle. A locksmith will need to gain access to the car and decode the VIN, then reprogramme the new replacement to erase any signatures from the computer for all keys that were lost or stolen.

Key replacements will be more expensive if the car has a transponder or integrated security chip. These chips transmit an electronic signal to the car which proves your identity as the driver, and allows the doors to open and the engine to start. The cost for replacing a smart key is $160.

ABUS recommends that you register your key code as soon as you are able after purchase. This will allow you to order spare keys or additional keys easily in the future. Enter your Key Code in the checkout page, and then select CANADA for your shipping country. You can also register a key based upon photographs of your spare key that you have taken from specific angles.
