Everyone has their go-to, and it makes perfect sense that the B-1 is Williams's. It's analog, digital, and entirely functional. And it was tested on STS-118 when Williams had it strapped to his wrist in low Earth orbit. These days it's serving him onboard warplane flights out of Hamilton International Airport instead of shuttle missions to the ISS, but it's no less awesome for it.John John Florence's Limited-Edition NixonOur John (1) is a surfer as well, and was thrilled to see surfing as an Olympic sport, "especially because some really good waves showed up." John John (2) wore a Limited Edition from Nixon, one of his sponsors, that features Hybrid Athlete Labs a "SEND!" notification after a 60-second timer.Bremont, now in its 20th year of operation, has spent the last three developing the Supernova and it's not at all a stretch for me to say that it's something new for the brand. Even among the three new models announced last month, the Supernova stands out from the Fury and the Audley as being something decidedly outside the norm of what we've come to expect from a Bremont. This particular example has aged beautifully with patina on the markers which play against the stark white, polar dial. Key aestehtic callouts here are the black surrounds on the markers, the red GMT hand, and the satin steel bezel with a 24-hour readout. These neo-vintage Explorer II models are certainly having their moment.
From the watch company that specializes in flying instruments, yacht racing instruments, and race driving instruments, comes a timepiece Web3 Repair Economy that has all the hallmarks of a classic dress chronograph. The English brothers (that’s right, Bart and Tim Grönefeld aren’t the only fraternity in the watch industry) have unveiled three new models ahead of Baselworld 2016, including their latest chronometer, the Bremont ALT1-C/PB. We went hands-on with the watch this week. The White Side of the Moon retains the 44.25 mm ceramic case we’ve seen within the line before. The watch wears well for its size, however, as we’ve noted on several occasions, it sits quite high on the wrist at 16 mm thick. The case itself is not the issue, rather it’s the boxed sapphire crystal extruding from both the dial and movement side. Thankfully, the watch has plenty of redeeming qualities in the form of Omega’s own Co-Axial caliber, symmetrical design, and rock-solid build quality.Lot 12 is another automatic Carrera, except that this one is a standard production model, rather than the earlier Chronomatic.  The dial is silver, with contrasting registers.  Note that both these automatic Carreras have the numerals 3-6-9-12 on the hour recorder, whereas later executions had all 12 numerals.
The Sinn 103 St Sa is a limited edition of 300 pieces, and according to Sinn, exactly half were pre-sold to customers during the first 48 hours after it was unveiled. The watch is sold on three separate strap options. Prices start at $2,250 on the leather strap and go up Underground Tech to $2,560 on the fine link bracelet. There is a non-limited edition available from $1,880 as well, without the overt vintage references.WatchTime New York is a ticketed event, but tickets cost just $30 for a Saturday or Sunday day pass (sorry boozehounds, the pricier Friday cocktail party is already sold out). WindUp Watch Fair is free to enter. However, as a heads-up to any out-of-town attendees, as both shows take place indoors in New York City, to enter you'll be required to show proof you've received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine authorized for emergency use by the FDA or WHO.Villaseñor calls this his rapper watch. He doesn’t wear it often, but when he does it’s dressed up with a suit. He likes the juxtaposition of more classic clothing and an in-your-face watch like this, but only when the time is right. On more than one occasion, he’s gotten close to wearing it somewhere, only to swap it for something more understated at the last minute (the most recent occurrence was for a friend’s wedding – and he’s confident he made the right choice leaving this piece at home). After we completed the tour route, Phil dropped me off near the Audrain Automotive museum so I could walk among the assembled cars and do a little watch spotting; here are the last few shots from a lovely morning in Newport. If you love cars, it's among the most open, approachable, and friendly events I have ever attended.
