In this kind of shape, and at a fraction of the price of an early Type XX, it’s hard to resist a storied, no-nonsense vintage chronograph like this. This Ref. 103A is being offered by a Wisconsin-based collector on Instagram for $8,550. Click here to see the original post.Inside the watch is the Swiss-made ETA 2824 movement, which is an excellent workhorse but doesn't quite reach the heights of the Max Bill design in terms of Junghans's internal excellence. If $1,100 replika Omega is too rich for your blood, no worries. The hand-wound variants start around $700 and the quartz models around $500.Following in the footsteps of the 2019 Autavia, these watches come fitted to straps with a special modular quick-release system that makes removal as easy as pressing a button. I honestly prefer the feel of a standard strap as you don't get the plastic-y sound that comes with these. They just feel a bit different. But they'll no doubt appeal to a certain consumer who likes changing straps and has positively no time for tools. This watch is so elegant – it's shiny but not too much, Forot says. "The art of the engraver is to make the structure [of the bracelet's links] disappear." Meanwhile, the gem-setting is equally masterful and fine. "Each diamond is independent, so you can lay the watch flat. It's not something very bulky."Next up, and on my wrist as I write this article, is the Apple Watch Ultra. While I have come to like smartwatches over the past few years, I have not reconciled with the inability to also wear a dumb watch – one I love simply because it's loveable (I refuse to double wrist). But, for a busy day of meetings, exercise, or when I'd just like to leave my phone at home and take a phone call on foot, the Apple Watch Ultra is a great tool for the task. The lack of bracelet is… a little on the strange side, to put it lightly. The watch is still interchangeable but no bracelet with purchase I'm afraid. I did enquire if it's possible to buy onReturning to 2023 and the new Polo Date in 36mm. It is basically a small cosmetic change to a watch that happens to already exist in the current Piaget catalog, this new version just comes without diamonds. But it's a minor upgrade that makes a major difference.
Our story starts in the last week of December 1960. The world didn't know it yet, but quartz watches were about to completely take over, changing how most people keep time on a daily basis. The Japanese were replica Vacheron Constantin at the forefront of this revolution, but the Swiss quickly realized they had to get in the game too or risk obsolescence. There's no way to overstate the impact of this first revolution and its effects are felt through the other three too.Read the full story here.Limited to 500 pieces and retailing for $8,200, the Pilot's Watch Chronograph Top Gun Edition "Mojave Desert" is a modern continuation of IWC's connection with military pilot's. Less expensive than other comparable ceramic chronographs from Omega, Zenith, and even IWC, the Top Gun Edition "Mojave Desert" is a limited ceramic chronograph that offers a distinctive style, a solid in-house chronograph movement, and a whole lot of wrist presence. For more information visit IWC online. All the watches were there, from the Sang Bleu to the Integral to the Big Bangs. I saw, in person, what I've come to know and expect from Hublot: An ultra-modern, often openworked design that tends to veer toward the gargantuan in terms of case size. And then I glanced down and saw a piece that wasn't getting a ton of attention in the presentation. It was just sitting there, gleaming in yellow gold, with a muted matte black dial. It was a watch I had seen before, but not quite like this. These are just the highlights from Phillips New York, and we'll have much more coverage as auction season kicks off, beginning next weekend when we'll be watching the Monaco Legends sale. After that, attention will turn to the big Geneva sales.Phillips New York Watch Auction: Seven will take place on December 10-11. For more information, visit phillips .Edit note: Updated to include charity information for the Grand Seiko chapter of watches.Furthermore, while both drivers haven't exactly had especially remarkable recent seasons, both are fan-favorite personalities, and both have seen a spike in their notoriety thanks to the past few seasons of Drive To Survive (Netflix's Formula 1 reality/documentary show), which enters its 6th season with a premiere on February 23rd.I'm in love with this watch. From the no-nonsense case with stepped bezel to the expertly proportioned dial design with eight uninterrupted Breguet numeral hour markers and an overall unfussy feel, the Chrono Felix Perpetual is everything I want in a perpetual calendar chronograph. I'll be watching closely for future dial options, I just don't love, love salmon dials, sorry! — Rich Fordon
From the "Start-Stop-Reset" stainless-steel chronograph sale, I have chosen the iconic Patek Philippe 1463 in steel. The 1463 is probably the most desirable vintage Patek Philippe chronograph. It is the only chronograph reference, besides the super-rare 1563, to have a waterproof case and round pushers – and not just any replika Panerai round pushers, but round pushers detailed with florets that add that extra something special. To end things off for the week, let's look at another watch this is available for purchase, coming from eBay, which was decidedly uneventful over the past seven day stretch. Nonetheless, it did yield this last piece, which is an appealing chronograph by Gallet that's powered by the Excelsior Park EP40. Similar chronographs have been worn over the years by a laundry list of notable figures, though what this example lacks in exciting provenance, it makes up for in the good looks department.Take, for example, the venerable institution that is the Citizen watch company of Japan. I've been a Citizen owner for many years (a Skyhawk, an Eco-Drive Tough, and one of the recent Bullhead mecha-quartz chronographs) and I've written about the company on a number of occasions. Most memorably, in recent years, there was the release of the Eco-Drive Caliber 0100, a watch worth looking at again. The truth is actually a bit different. The movements used inside this small production of watches are in actuality the Eberhard caliber 310-82 from the 1960s, rather than the as-described NOS 1930s Breitling movements. The overall aesthetic also appears to be more "inspired" by early chronograph wristwatch design rather than a direct recreation of any specific vintage Breitling reference.
