This is your Bring A Loupe for March 25, 2016.Well, it's really interesting because Stranger Things season one was set in 1981. When I began pre-production, everybody was saying, 'Oh, well it would have been this, or it would have been a Swatch, or it would have been digital.' Actually, those things didn't come into existence until a couple of years later. There was a still a bit of a 1970s hangover in 1981. (Reiss is right; Swatch was test-marketed in Texas in the fall of 1982 and did not debut commercially until 1983.)I love this watch, which is spanking new and features a cartoon rabbit named Miffy. I will quote my esteemed colleague Malaika Crawford on its merits: "Miffy is the star of the show, but her presence on the watch is subtle, she's a complication with a pop aesthetic. The simple roundness of the watch, the monochrome wash of solid color, and the smooth rotation of the case are equally as appealing to me as the endearing little bunny floating among the stars."
