Wrath of the Lich King Classic, the resurrected version of perhaps the most popular expansion pack in World of Warcraft history, may have been confirmed by data mining the Burning Crusade Classic 2.5.4 patch files, with Gods of Zulman releasing tomorrow, March 22 to be officially published.
Not that this news is shocking: after all, a sequel to Blizzard's vanilla nostalgia experience after World of Warcraft Classic and TBC Classic is to be expected, and it shows unequivocally that the original World of Warcraft formula, prior to its corruption by Riddle of the Pandaren (for better or for worse) is still hugely popular and successful.
MMO Champion highlights some of the files found since the patch server: A number of files in the "Interface_Wrath" folder seem to indicate without a doubt that there was a project in full swing in the new/old expansion.
In addition to the names of the folders themselves, there are references to files that contain specific changes related to WotLK, such as: B. the support for the "death knight" button in the user interface (you know the class that was added by this expansion), or the blue buttons for login and character selection, which are also typical of WotLK.
Therefore, an official announcement from Blizzard is expected in a few months and as predicted by the MMO champion himself, there will be a WotLK Classic 3.4.x version soon. However, Burning Crusade Classic hasn't received a significant injection of content since Darkhold's release in January (most notably Wrath of the Sunwell), so it's safe to assume that World of Warcraft Classic will be released later this year (i.e. early 2023).
We remind you that BlizzCon will not take place this year, so it is impossible to predict when Blizzard will officially launch the title. We will definitely keep you updated as soon as we have any news from https://www.wowwotlkgold.com
