Publicly funded health insurance is available for people over 65 and people with disabilities. Medicare senior services include four parts. The first part of the plan includes inpatient care, limited home care, and hospital services for short stays in skilled nursing facilities. Part B plans cover general medical services, including preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic services for illnesses, emergency room visits, and emergency transportation. Medicare Advantage, or Part C, is offered by private insurance companies and includes Part A, Part B, prescription drugs, and other health benefits. Finally, Part D covers prescription drug costs.
