What is this? I have always noticed that the lock is green or gray, as in this forum, and sometimes it is completely crossed out. What does that mean? Does it have to do with security?

If I'm not mistaken, this is the encryption level set on the site.

This icon indicates the level of encryption on the site. After the site receives Comodo SSL Certificates, this lock will appear. Anyone can buy an ssl certificate. The user unknowingly trusts the site after seeing the green block. I hope I was able to answer your question!
