Runescape 2 is out. Morytania was released (up to Port Phasmatys and Mort'ton I think). Tiranwwn was also released (elf land). Kharidian desert has greatly expanded RS Gold. Relekka and Etceteria released. Runecrafting skill. Burthorpe Troll and Burthorpe areas are made available. Various quests associated with the above.

The following year, Slayer was released. All this was done by a small development team, in comparison to the one we have today. While it's simpler to release updates that include textures and all, I think more quests would be a great addition.

Although I may be wrong, it appears like Jagex gives more thought to Treasure Hunter/Solomon updates than regular updates to games. Many of the things that have been released there could have been incorporated into a new quest or skill expansion. Forges that are portable and ranges in particular.

Quality is more important than quantity, do you think? Not actually. This could mean that 2005 was poor quality or that the present is of high quality. The quests for this year include: One of a Kind Good RS 2007 Fire Cape Buy. This ought to be classified as Grandmaster rather than Master. The game is also overly fast. Recycling graphics are utilized in new areas (celestial Dragon Dungeon is the same area as the Brimhaven Metal Dragon Area).
