Hey everyone,
I’m in the process of setting up a storage server for hosting a large Minecraft map and need some advice on the best hardware specifications. Since the map is quite extensive, with a lot of world data, player activity, and plugins, I want to ensure smooth performance and reliable storage.
Here are a few things I’m considering:
Storage Type: Is an SSD significantly better than an HDD for handling large world files and frequent read/write operations? Would an NVMe SSD be worth the investment?
Capacity: How much storage space is recommended for a large-scale Minecraft server that will have backups and plugins?
RAID Configuration: Should I use RAID 1 or RAID 10 for data redundancy and performance?
Backup Solutions: What’s the best way to back up the server regularly without affecting performance?
File System: Is there a preferred file system (NTFS, ext4, ZFS, etc.) for better efficiency and stability?
If anyone has experience running a storage server for large Minecraft worlds, I’d love to hear your recommendations on specs and setup. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
