If a particular text is translated into another language, it always loses a lot. But can one language better help express the original than another language?

For example, if I want to read a text written originally in Bengali, and I either have the option of reading in Hindi or English, would Hindi be a more advantageous choice since both Bengali and Hindi are Indo-Aryan language while English is a West-Germanic one? Or does that make little difference?

If the question is not relevant here, please direct me to an appropriate sub-reddit. thanks!

The simplest example is the songs of Western artists, the texts of which users are trying to translate. When I was learning English, this translator helped me translate https://www.translafy.com/en/ . Simple and high quality application
