Hey guys, I have a bit of a dilemma and I want your opinions. Just by dumb sheer luck I stumbled upon a bolt action rifle last week that I have always wanted. It is a Winchester Model 70 Featherweight chambered in .270 Winchester Short Magnum (WSM). This rifle is absolutely flawless and shows no signs of ever being fired. The walnut stock has a satin finish that I much prefer, especially for hunting, over the glossy appearance of say...a Remington 700 BDL or a Browning A-Bolt. The receiver, barrel, and other metal is not satin, but it is a lower gloss blue.

Here is my dilemma. I bought a Winchester Model 70 Super Shadow chambered in, you guessed it, .270 WSM right after I retired from the Army in 2004. It is basically the same gun but with a satin finish on all metal and a black synthetic stock. IIRC I paid just under $700 for that rifle.

Well, the wood stocked version I came across last week is currently priced at $600 but, depending upon caliber, normally retails in the $1,100 to $1,300 range. I really want this rifle but the practical side of me thinks it would be foolish since I already have the synthetic stocked version, even though I can easily afford the purchase without putting my wife and I in a bind. On the other hand, I could buy it, sit on it a while, then sell it and nearly double my money.

Fellas, put yourself in my shoes. What would you do if it was you?

Most of all, I prefer to use the most ordinary holster for my Glock

Looking at your photo, I thought that this rifle looks very cool and ergonomic, but I wouldn't take it anyway because I don't know all the details and characteristics about this rifle. I've got a pretty good habit, thanks to which I don't buy different stuff, but carefully choose the things I need. The fact is that before buying any weapon, I always look at different reviews and read customer reviews, then I look at different characteristics and figure out if such a thing / weapon will suit me. If everything came together and I liked everything, only after that I order or buy any thing. I advise everyone to do this and you will spend much less money on different garbage. Good luck to everyone!
