Been running my boutique fitness studio for about four years now, and I wanted to share my experience with different gym management solutions for anyone considering an upgrade or starting fresh.

Started with a basic spreadsheet system (mistake #1) before realizing I needed proper software. The first platform I tried looked great in demos but was a nightmare in practice. Constant glitches with member check-ins, billing errors that took hours to resolve, and their customer support was practically non-existent.

Switched to a mid-tier solution last year and it's been much better. Member scheduling runs smoothly, payment processing is reliable, and the reporting features actually help me understand my business trends. The integration with my door access system was seamless, and members love the mobile app for booking classes.

Key lessons learned: don't go with the cheapest option, make sure they have solid customer support (you'll need it during setup), and test their mobile app thoroughly. Also, ask about data migration help - switching platforms is painful if you have to manually transfer hundreds of member profiles.

The monthly cost seems high at first, but when you factor in the time saved and reduced billing errors, it pays for itself quickly. Happy to answer specific questions about features or vendors if anyone's researching options.
