Just got my motorcycle license and need proper protection! Safety is obviously my top priority, but I also want something I can wear off the bike without looking like I'm cosplaying.

I've been researching best leather jacket for men specifically for riding, and there's so much conflicting information out there. Some people swear by thick cowhide, others say modern synthetic materials are better for protection.

My riding instructor recommended getting something with CE-rated armor pockets, but I'm not sure if that's overkill for city commuting. I won't be doing any track days or long highway trips initially - just riding to work and around town.

Budget is tight at around $250 since I've already spent a fortune on the bike and other gear. Should I prioritize fit over features at this price point? I've heard ill-fitting protective gear can be dangerous.

Also wondering about ventilation. I live in Texas, so breathability matters even in winter. Are perforated leather jackets worth considering, or should I look at textile options instead?
