I'm open to any suggestions for a good alternative to Adobe Lightroom. I'm not a fan of the subscription model and you can no longer buy it outright.

Up until now I've been using Aperture but since I've been forced to upgrade my laptop that's no longer an option.

You can try out other apps though, or remove bg. One thing that I've noticed over the years of being an amateur photo editor is that the lighting of the photo will change if you remove/change the background. Me and my friends do it all the time. Or sometimes, we would remove the background, edit it a little bit and then put the background back in, add in some small effect, and that's it! Anyways, if you don't know how to do it or you're too lazy to edit the background, I heard that there're websites on the internet and they have people behind the screen who do it for free
