I struggled with health anxiety for the first time last year. I have always been an anxious person and coped poorly with illnesses in the family, but last year they took over my life. In fact, I had a breakdown because of a couple of moles that I have. It all started with one mole, then as soon as I cleared everything up, it moved to another, and then even until I checked them completely and was told that everything was fine. At Christmas, I was convinced that I had dementia, and in March I took a blood test, but I was able to refuse it. I also had a panic due to leg cancer, as I had a stabbing pain in my leg, but it disappeared. About 5 weeks ago, I noticed a slightly enlarged lymph node on my neck. I held back my anxiety for a couple of weeks, and then suddenly the sky soared at the thought of cancer. The doctor looked at him and said there was nothing to worry about. Less than three days later, my anxiety focused on a small bump on my leg. However, I am now terrified that I have bone cancer and have just spent the last three hours measuring my ankle as it looks bigger than the other one. In truth, it is, but I suspect it's because I've pushed it so many times, now it's really swollen.

In moments of clarity, I see that what I'm doing is unhealthy and self-destructive. It affects my relationship with my husband and my work. But I just can't help myself. I can't stop worrying, and the thought of devoting another 50 years to this seems terrible. Does anyone here have good coping mechanisms for health anxiety?

Hello. Don't worry so much! Everything will be fine! You will cope with your problems! Just believe in yourself! You're the best! Be sure to work on your morale to be morally strong! Just don't resort to alcohol, cigarettes, or even worse, drugs! They only ruin, but they do not help in any way with solving moral problems! Pull yourself together! Be strong!
