I’m a student at UNC Chapel Hill. I’m reaching out to learn more about the needs of caregivers for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients.
The group of students with whom I’m working is researching the effects of music therapy for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. With your insight, we can better understand how to serve caregivers and, ultimately, the patients.
The survey will be anonymous and should take no more than 5 minutes of your time. The link to the survey can be found here: https://unc.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_aVuyptX2tT7mdPD Thank you and have a great day!
I recently read a study demonstrating the relationship between patients with dementia and music that can improve their emotional state. It is a method applied in many hospitals and nursing homes, and it has positive effects. This practice was even tested on my grandmother, who has Alzheimer's, by her caregiver from homecareassistance.com. He told us that when our grandmother goes through periods of uncontrolled panic, he puts on therapeutic music that helps her calm down in a few minutes.
