Every trailer must be installed so that its wheels do not deviate more than six inches from the path of the towing vehicle's wheels. Except for semi-trailers, every trailer must be connected to the towing vehicle using a means certified by the Commissioner, including safety chains. A permit is required for 53-foot trucks transporting non-divisible loads in New York City. Depending on axle spacing, vehicles have a maximum weight limit of 80,000 pounds or less. Weight restrictions may be put on bridges or viaducts. Simply Google "towing service in NYC." We'll be there in a couple of minutes. The most well-known company in town is NYC Manhattan Towing.
