“Parental identity threat is something that happens at work that makes you question whether you’re a good parent,” she explains. “For example, a co-worker might ask who is taking care of your kid when you are working late, or perhaps your child’s school asks for more volunteers to chaperone a field trip but you can’t attend because it is during working hours.
