Hello, I'm in need of some advice regarding HDDs. I tried creating a new partition to store my movies on but it looks like I've failed and now my partitions are all messed up. Can they be restored to their previous state?

Of course they can! You can either try reinstalling Windows, but a much more sensible option is using software to restore deleted or lost partition in question. This should allow you to get all your data back without spending tons of time reinstalling the OS. Let me know how it goes and if you need help.
