We have always been so careful not to get any spyware on our PC at home. But around Christmas (I think when my husband was doing more surfing than usual, and trying out different sites he was reading about), we became infected. We have so many annoying pop-ups now AND our machine is so slow.
I've tried Skybot Search and Destroy. It searched and found - but didn't destroy. I installed Spyware Guard - which is supposed to prevent any new ones. But I need to get rid of what's there. Does anyone have any advice for me??? Thanks.
My father can often download something incomprehensible on the Internet and easily run a virus on his computer. I use the malware removal guide at bestpctips.com all the time and find configuration and virus cleaning from them. They also have interesting articles that are helpful and will help you solve your problem.
Strange, I just started using Firefox and ads started popping up for the very first time for me. I was using Netscape 7.1 before (I'm on Mac OSX) and never happened there. What I do love about Firefox is the tabbed browsing. Safari and Netscape have it too but with Firefox's 3rd party extensions, it's much better.
