It depends on the city and state. Washington DC a tiny apartment in a not great neighborhood costs around $1200.00 a month. In Cincinnati a nice sized apartment is about that same price. I live in Northern Kentucky, a suburb of Cincinnati rents range between $500 and $1200. A 4 bedroom house in a nice suburb rents for $1500.00 to $1800.00. In the slums of Cincinnati you can rent a house for $500.00
