Lars Wilkes is aSLOTXOSwedish cartoonist known for his caricatures of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad. Died yesterday (Oct 3) in a car accident.
Swedish police confirmed to AFP that Wilks, 75, died on Tuesday (Oct 3) when his car collided with a truck near the town of Margarid. Both cars were on fire.
The incident left two policemen dead and the truck driver injured. and was taken to the hospital
A police spokesman told AFP that Wilkes' death was an accident. and there is no reason to suspect a murder plot. (Foul play) The cause of the crash has not been determined.
"The person we were escorted and two other police officers died in this tragic tragedy," Regional Police Commissioner Karina Person said.
Wilsk has been living secretly under police supervision since 2007 after he cartooned the Prophet Muhammad with the body of a dog. until causing resentment to Muslims around the world
The al-Qaeda terror group had previously announced that the cartoonist's head was set at $100,000.
