I use a ONEIDA Dust Deputy in my furniture shop to collect sanding dust. It does an excellent job of depositing the fine dust into the 5 gallon bucket and not in the vacuum. This allows easier disposal and the fine dust never makes it to the filter and won't clog the filter. I have been using a Jet Air Purifier near the stove to catch the fine dust but it's not 100%, I still get a layer of dust on the floor.
Today I rigged up my dust deputy, vacuum and the air filter all in the same area. At first shake down and ash removal it seems to do an excellent job of dust pick up. So for the rest of the season I'll continue the experiment. If it is successful next season it will all be contained in a cabinet. The hoses in the photo have wood dust from the shop on them and not coal dust. I need to take the garden hose to them! LOL!
Stay tuned.

Oh yeah, actually getting one from the Harbor Freight is a really great idea. There you can actually find a really great variety of products, and most of them are at a really adequate price. I was dumb enough to visit a certain store which I do not even want to mention, as they actually robbed me! I had to pay twice the price for a product which I could have bought waaaaay cheaper from Harbor Freight. However it is really great. I actually wanted to buy this exact dust collector, as I read this review https://mitersawjudge.com/best-dust-collector-reviews/ and I actually liked it, so I was looking for exactly this one, as I got convinced by the fact that it is really great from the price-to-quality ratio.
