As compared to what's currently on the market, Bitmain's Antminer KS3 ASIC miner has quite impressive specs. In addition to offering a hashrate of 8.3 TH/s and a power consumption of 3188 Watts, the KS3 ASIC miner is highly energy efficient at 0.38 J/GHs with a power consumption of 3188 Watts. An optimized RTX 3070 GPU can do 600 MH/s at 90 Watts. A KS3 ASIC miner has the same hashrate as approximately 14,000 Nvidia RTX 3070 GPUs while using much less power.

The price has not yet been officially announced, but Bitmain is running a contest for users to guess it. If Bitmain starts shipping these miners in August, you can expect the price to be in the tens of thousands. Once they come online, network difficulty is likely to spike significantly.

With the current total network hashrate of Kaspa (KAS) at around 1.16 PH/s, Bitmain should be able to produce more than 140 Antminer KS3 ASIC miners to double it. KAS mining on FPGAs and GPUs will become unprofitable once ASIC miners hit the network. Although ASIC miners are faster and more energy-efficient than other mining options, competing with them will still be unreasonable even if prices continue to rise.

Until we see the new miners launch, it is still possible to mine KAS or accumulate some KAS coins. However, don't wait too long, as difficulty will likely increase significantly once the miners launch.
